So i am not that big of a fan of the current UI including the loading screen so i made one (last one) inspired in the previous loading screens from Civ 5 and 6 while in my free time.

Of course yours is better! The first one looks like a placeholder. The one thing that does make the above better for me is the background. I love the background and I feel you see less on yours since it's both darker and cropped.

Amazing. My namesake is looking quite spiffy

Pretty sure you are his namesake :shifty::D

While I think the current loading screen could be improved, I can imagine the dev team coming across the choices you made and scrapping it because it looks too much like a previous Civ (5 in this case). I imagine that is always a factor. Artists and project leaders want to do something new, rather than simply polish a previous version.

That's not to say it's not impressive, rather, that I don't doubt they started out with things like this and moved in other directions to make it distinct. That said, the font and spacing could definitely use some improvement.

I think it's kind of insane that these UI mods pop up so quickly after the game's release.

So if it's SO EASY to make a tweak like that, why haven't the devs done that already? They have more people and more resources at their disposal, AND are selling an expensive AAA game. These adjustment feel like they should come courtesy of the devs, not the modding community.

Bookmarking this thread though so i can use it later in case the UI hasn't been improved by the time I buy the game.

Every tweak would have to be approved, added to a build, tested to make sure the build doesn't crash with the new tweak and then tested for every leader and civ to make sure, as stealth pointed out above, that the text fits in each case. That is one reason why it's far easier for a modder to tweak than an internal team to tweak something so visbile.
