Who would you pick?

It has to be some country which your nation has close geographical, historical or political ties today, so Romania and Moldova are fine but Canada and Azerbaijan arent.

If we had to merge with another country I would pick Scotland, but I cant cause they arent independent yet, so I think I'd go for France. But only after Sarkozy is gone. nice weather, close politically anyway (Ireland and France, not me and France), and the look on old British iperialists' faces would be priceless.

Canada. I realize we are different, but the only other country that borders us is even more different.

(On a side note, it amuses me that the second largest nation in the world in area has a land border with only one other country.)

Canada is largest now IIRC because of the Canadian arctic.

I would say America, mainly because we give all our stuff to them anyways, why not be the same country? Makes matters a lot more simple.

I would consider Ireland, but why bother really? It's rainy and UK alcohol consumption is large enough as it is.

So then I'd go for Canada and Australia, before finally plumping for Australia. It's sunny, I like Australians, and we'd finally win some sports ;)

France for the women, or NZ or Australia for the cultural/political/economic similarities.

Or Hong Kong for the pirates!!!
