Ive been tryin a quechua rush on immortal playing on duel map size. What is the secret to this? If I declare war too early I don't have enough units, but i don't want to wait until they have more than one city. Any help would be appreciated.

Move your settler to find your opponent then settle your city next to his, preferably on a plains hill with a forested plains hill available to work. This nets 5 hammers, so you can crank out quechas quickly. Generally, you need 2.5 quechas per archer defender, to guarantee victory.

If you are very gutsy, on immortal, it's possible to do something even more awesome. Rather than taking out a couple AI's and then calling an end to the Quechua rush, you could send 2 Quechuas to each of your 5 opponants, and pillage EVERYTHING that they have, but don't take out cities. Fuel your research with pillage gold until you get oracle CoL, then go for blood.

I personally patrol my quechas around the enemy territory waiting for a lowly worker to show up on the border then I declare war to steal the worker and proceed to tear up any improvements. I can usually pull this off on 3-4 computers at emperor level in the game. I've never played immortal so not sure how strong the comps are at that level. If you keep a quecha or two in an AI's city radius they will never settle a second city or improve anything. soon those comps are so far behind they are no longer a threat.

to start the game only build quechas over and over. the computer players will provide your workers and cities for you.
