Imperial Glory

EQ did nothing I did go through? I wasn't mentioned.

Dammit. You try to make the economy grow and people start to hate you. Now, let's see how the heck do I get the stab up...

EDIT: I hadn't underestimated the Moroccans, which was why I sent such a great force. The problem came when it suddenly was needed to pay up EPs to get the supplies.

Well the same happened for me. I try to make the army more efficient and they get mad about it...I am still at lost as to what exactly they are mad about. Hopefully they'll calm down if it shows results on the battlefield.

Change is bad, mm'kay.

@LizardKing: Yes, what you did went through, but I dont always put every thing mentioned into the updates.

@Milarqui: THe underestimation wasn't directed at you. It was directed to other people who had worse or similar mishaps.

OOC: @EQ: Was my grant to the university big enough that, if I leave the university alone now, it will have stable finances?

Great update!

It has come to Doge Giacomo's attention of the fragile situation of the economy in the small nations of the northern italian peninsula. It is mostly becuse, the trade is weak and the rulers of the nations keep their resources to themselves. Genoa wishes to create a trading commonwealth with the northern Italian peninsula nations, as to improve the economies of our nations. It would include opening borders for merchants to trade goods freely within each nation, and reduction of tariffs of items imported from commonwealth nations to be sold in other commonwealth nations.

With the recent establishment of Nuovo Liguria, we would like to commence regular trade of slaves to England and it's colonies.

Reading that update was like reading about a train wreck. *Back to Lurking*

Switzerland, Sicily, Hanover and Bavaria seemed to have a good year for themselves.

I guess the moral of the story is its best to invest in education and just not declare a desire not to bother anyone.

Oh on another note @EQ: rereading the update I noticed you did mention "settlers" in Ludwigsstadt and this was probably because you thought I sent the 2 manpower there. Now that we've cleared up I didn't send any manpower there however, I'll assume the logistical problems are not quite as bad as it may have seemed in the update. Is it correct to assume this?

I wonder on all of this because Ludwiggstadt never was meant to be a settler colony, just a trading post. Probably just the garrison, some merchants and maybe a couple of missionaries present there at most at any one time.

@milarqui: some say it's cause I have sociopathic tendencies. Other say I was born with a heart three sizes too small. Admittedly I could of mentioned logistics, instead I've frequently said on and off the forums that this was always intended to be the "hard mode" version of ABNW. I've been feeling a lot less forgiving recently.

@bombshoo: I think you're right on all counts.

@D'art: you're welcome to Sardinia, just be sure to get orders in for it to count.

What is this free trade nonsense? If you wish to harm your economy even more then go ahead and allow merchants to run wild and unchecked across your boarders, but we Tuscans know that mercantilism is the only proven economic system and so we will have to decline your offer.

EQ, can you PM the reasons they are forcing me out? Don't they know about the thousand Hundreds nations of companies of Persia? Prussia?

Didn't I order Algiers and Tunisia to attempt to establish a colony by force? The rest of the update seems fine, but why didn't that go ahead?

SWITZERLAND MAKES PROCLAMATION OF NEUTRALITY. Berne, Switzerland. The Berne Canton has declared Switzerland's overall neutrality in European conflicts, calling for other European powers to respect its boundaries and desire to avoid warfare. The surrounding nations of Europe have remained silent on the matter so far, but there seems little reason to reject the Swiss goals of pacifism. Some cantons seem less willing to accept the Berne Canton's declaration, but most see the wisdom of avoiding Europe's inherent history of warfare.

Bavaria reaffirms its recognition of Swiss neutrality, and reminds the other German nations that they too are bound to do so by the Treaties of Westphalia.

OOC: Historically, my king had a child in 1801. Do I need to include this in my orders? Do I need to include children in my orders if I have them unhistorically?
