Imperium Off Topicum: High Fantasy(IOTHF)

Can I still join, if so:

The United Duchies of Savearan

Claims: Bolivia & South Brazil

Color: Purple, the royal color

Starting hero: Leader

Government: Feudalistic Council

Capital: Bolivia

Primary Race: Human

Secondary Race: Dragons

History: The history of theKingdom of Savearan before the battle was of a proud kingdom with elite Wyvern-riding knights (Wyverns are the dragon's less intelligent cousins, think humans vs. apes). In the Battle of the Allience their knights served in many key battles. However, in the final battle the king perished, leaving no successor. In the next 50 years the kingdom started a slow spiral into madness. As the Dukes fought for the title of King, crime was rampant through the cities. Only the best-armed merchants could enter, driving up prices and impoverishing every duchy.

After over 900 years of these dark ages, one man decided to make a difference. That man was Darien, the inheriting son of of one of the few merchants to still roam the lands. He extorted one Duchy after another using mercenaries and trickery until at last all of the realms answered to him. Using his new power, he created a new government consisting of two councils.

The first was the Noble council that gave the Dukes major powers and the Counts some minor voting abilities. The second was the Merchant Council, which contained all 25 of the richest non-nobles. He then added the final position, a leader that controls foreign affaires and the military, he could also settle major disputes between Dukes or other influencial people. He would be known as the Minister-General of the realm.

And that is how, at last the Unified Duchies of Savearan (commonly known as the Unified Duchies or Savearan) came to be.

The Thirteen Citadels would like to offer this new South American nation a defensive pact against any nation that attacks either of us, whose origin is outside of the americas. Think any attempts at colonialism or if a european power declared war on either of us, then the other would come to our aid. We would also like to notify you that we have already executed maneuvers meant to bring Panama and Venezuela under our protection before we had word that another civilized power had formed in South America. We will avoid expanding further south should you agree to the aforementioned DP.

May your Breath be a Flame, let your Shield be your Citadel, and your swords become Harbingers of the Light.

The Necrocracy of Regina welcomes the new power to the world.

Panama and Venezuela, along with Columbia. have been set by galley to be claimed by the Necrocracy in need to help prepare us for the coming of the usurper that must be executed. However the Antilles will be a good alterative for Regina; as such we will ask the 13 Citidels to not take the Antilles to ensure that Regina may bless the new power that has shook the world so that we may help our trade with them and them spread our teachings to help enhance the powers to be.

We also offer a defence pact to the United Duchies of Savearan.

May the darkness shield Savearan from the forces of destruction and evil, as well as guide it to a age of glory.

We recommend Regina withdraw from their claims in the americas. You have plenty of room in the Baltic area. Had you wanted more territory, you should have moved faster in your own reasonable sphere. We will hold a hard line against old world powers encroaching on our borders in the new world. The age of colonialism is over, and I suggest you recognize that.

We may also note we already control the antilles as part of the larger caribbean province.

OOC: This is trivial, but you might want to correct that Arya, considering that the age of colonialism and the terms old and new world are a part of our timeline and not this one. :p

@Regina
We are sorry but we cannot in good faith sign the defense pack as your plans are highly likely to come in conflict with our original ally (see post 202).

@Arya
The Antilles and the Bahamas are separate from your province.

Interesting. I could have sworn LH told me otherwise when I initially claimed them.

In that case we warn Regina not to claim them or find those provinces under blockade next turn.

OOC: Lec, my point gets across :p Anyway, who is to say that the old world did not colonize the new world in some age long past anyway?

OOC: Entirely possible, but you're still going to confuse people. :p

The Necrocracy of Regina has desire to claim some American lands for purpose of flexible movement, protection of our trade routes by allowing us to have a closer trade link to America and to ensure that our teachings can spread.

The Antilles are unclaimed. You claimed Svalbard. Hence it will be unwell to deny us the Antilles, especially as you lay claimant to Columbia, a province we had desired to help spread our teachings.

If not Antilles then we would like to know which part of Central America is to be claimed by a scholarly party from the Azores? Deny us a part of Central America and you will be denying the peoples of America the chance to learn the necromancer arts needed to prepare to face the usurper and to allow us all to prepare for the return of Scaanoar of Baase. You took Svalbard; we must take a Central American province. Honduras perhaps?

The Thirteen Citadels holds no claim to any part of Mexico.

Then our destination is clear: we thank you. We will now convert a province to the ways of our dark teachings, so that we can teach as many as possible the secrets of knowledge and how to use it for proper benefit of all!

Any news?

I'm sorry LH I am going to have to drop this. I don't have the time to do this game justice. Sorry. :(

In what order does combat resolve? Is it sea move - sea combat - convoy - land move - land combat or some other way?
