Imperium Offtopicum V

The Seven Years war was fought exclusively in the Americas, because the majority of Asia and Africa had not been mapped yet by European nations and was thus not colonized. Come back when you have any understanding of history whatsoever.

Nope. Quite wrong. The 7 years war saw a lot of conflict in Europe and India, in addition to the Americas. That doesn't change the fact that it wasn't the first world war though.

Uh, crop rotation was practised by the Normans as part of their feudal reforms.

alright. i figured out the civilian tech one anyway:

Civilian tech one:: crop rotation

the Crop rotation is used to rotate crops around different parts of farmland so any oen kind of nutrient isn't drained from growing the plants.

If you want to waste your time on long-discovered technologies, be my guest.

Mispost. I am aware of there being battles in Asia, but I am not at all really familiar with the Asian theatre.

From: English Confederation
To: Papal States

We propose a Defensive Pact. Is this acceptable to His Holiness?

I have just been informed that one of our GM's, Cull, is going to be leaving us for the time being. He's told me he needs to take a break from this, and so he's giving up his country (the Papal States will be dissolved) and his current position as the War GM. You will be missed Cull :(

And so, I'm going to need a new volunteer to be the War GM. As the War GM, you will be dealing with calculating battles, approving casus belli's, and, as with the other GM's, policing the thread. Anyone willing to take up this position?

Byzantine news

with the dissolution of the papal states, Byzantium made a quick move to propose a vote as to which country will host the pope.

catholic and eastern orthodox nations are welcome in Constantinople to discuss who will be the new pope.

Joe: ill take you up on that offer :)

*cough* Pope Leo V comes from Burgundy and isn't dead yet.

I'll leave before that happens.

England continues to recognize the Burgundian Pope, and proposes that the "Center of Christendom", be moved to the Burgundian capital.

Sorry, double-post somehow.

You know, it would be good to actually have Cull state whether Leo V is dead or not...

Burgundy thanks England for its support.

Former Archbishop of Canterbury Crowned as Bishop of Rome
An announcement to all Catholic nations. In the face of Byzantium's "claim to the Papal throne", forces at play in the Faith have named the incumbent Archbishop of Canterbury John Tullman the Bishop of Rome, and have relocated the "center of Christendom", to Canterbury in the English Kingdom of Northumbria. It is asked of Christendom that this new Pope be approved to lead the Faith in the face of recent tribulations.

you cant make such a unilateral descion. i wanted the nations to vote on who will be the new pope.

I stand behind Pope Leo and will follow him. The Catholic Nations must stay together.

OOC: Does anyone else notice that this game seems to be slowly falling apart?

Duke Phillip will be happy to host Pope Leo V in his capital, Dijon, and alienate his second-best palace and commensurate land in trust for the new Papal state. Byzantium's attempts to destroy the Papacy will not be taken lightly.

Excuse me sir. You just attempted to crown yourself Pope. That was a gut reaction before I remembered a Burgundian Bishop had been elected prior to Cull's leaving, and has been edited out for a reason.

England will go to war with Byzantium if it continues to play as Bishop of Rome.
