As the Oceanic Empire has confirmed itself willing to aid and abet the Japanese Empire, the United Arab Republic must, in accordance with its state of war against Japan, extend its sanctions to Oceania. Pursuant to Parliamentary Bill 37-2106A, ratified by Heads of State Assad and Amirmuaz earlier today, the United Arab Republic has adopted the following measures:
  • Closure of the Suez Canal to Oceanic shipping and Oceanic-registered vessels;
  • Total embargo on Oceanic goods;
  • Seizure of Oceanic commercial assets within the United Arab Republic;
  • Issue of a travel ban to Oceania;
  • Closure of borders to Oceanic citizens, excepting properly-processed refugees.
Additionally, all Oceanic nationals are given 72 hours to leave the United Arab Republic, after which time persons that have not received government sanction may be arrested on suspicion of espionage and sedition.

I support the creation of a B-Movie style poster for the update.

We formally protest the UAR's hamfisted methods in their handling of the Vietnam War by expanding sanctions against a neutral party. This provocative action serves no purpose, and will achieve nothing but expand the conflict into a wider region.

The UAR should consider itself on notice.

Behind this blank facade and mask of formalities none other than a cold and cruel face is hidden, full of dark sentiments and purposes!
As my legendarily wise and beloved father, the great chieftain Kalaniʻōpuʻu-a-Kaiamamao used to say in his most famous addresses and speeches, extendedly recollected in Oceanic oral tradition, politicians and leaders who don't speak to the heart, allege supposedly to some kind of laws and declarations long forgotten or artificially created and acting as they were the defenders of nonsensical virtues and ideologies while in reality plotting and scheming for their own intent and benefit, respect nothing more than contempt from their counterparts, and they are not worthy of the position they hold.
Which nation, from their even first post, has repeated reiteratively that they are no more than complete fellow advocates of peace, except on self defense, stability and the prosperity of all humanity? Us, Oceania.
We did nothing to the UAR, and yet this nation, with their cryptic words, brings even the drums of war into our doorstep!
The nation of Oceania begs, demands, to the UAR to take back their words full of unnecessary hatred.

Spoiler :
PS: I know its very anticlimactic, but good job on the little flag on that post

TO: Mayor Francis I of Texarkana
FROM: Fadia bint Faraj al-Hishami, Minister of Foreign Affairs

Perhaps if Texarkana had not so disingenuously shirked its commitment to the international community by unceremoniously abandoning UNVIFOR after Hannegan's death, we would be more inclined to consider its opinion on the matter. As it stands, Texarkana's decision to withdraw from the conflict before completion of the mission to Vietnam, based on the ludicrous rationalization that Platonic Republic, a boisterous but incompetent and de facto failed state, poses a greater threat to Texark interests than the warmongering government in Tokyo, which has repeatedly flouted international law and exercised absolute contempt for civilian life, betrays the tragic and rapid erosion of Texarkana's political ethics.

FROM: Fadia bint Faraj al-Hishami, Minister of Foreign Affairs

The United Arab Republic regards the present friction as equally unfortunate, all the more so that Oceania is apparently oblivious to the political context that has engendered it. While we hold no ill will towards Nauru, it must understand that by willingly and openly condoning trade and defensive relations with the Government of Japan, it brands itself a plausible aide and abettor to a rogue state that has committed an act of war against the international community, has repeatedly violated international law, demonstrates outright contempt for the lives of civilians and prisoners of war; and is presently subject to an international embargo. Thus the United Arab Republic is merely pursuing a matter of course by extending its current sanctions to Japan's allies to maintain Tokyo's diplomatic and economic isolation.

Assuming Nauru does not become involved in the war, these measures will be lifted upon a peace settlement, although we strongly urge Oceania to reconsider its decision to support the Japanese, as the régime in Tokyo is the complete antithesis to the peace and prosperity you purport to promote.

(Seriously, eduhum, did you not read up on the state of the game before joining? :crazyeye:)

Japan, which is a country that never threatened Texarkana, never should have been subject to a Texark declaration of war. It was Hannegan and his political allies in the Congress that pushed for the war, without a plan I remind you, in the name of interntional solidarity.

But for the realists that make up Texarkana, we fail to see what Japan has done wrong that requires Texarkanans to die. What are a few hundred thousand deaths across the Pacific when I have a war in Mexico underway?

If the UAR wants to keep throwing bodies into the pyre, than that is the right of the UAR, but Texarkana decided it would not take part in it.

Although we would understand if you decided to end trade and military relations with Japan because of UAR bullying, we would like to remind you that when Australia threatened you with war and you were isolated, Japan was the only nation to offer economic and military co-operation, despite already facing a huge coalition. If your consciousness allows you to betray us, then do it. We shall not complain.

I am very aware of the situation of Japan, and was too before joining.

I also think that many of their actions have been exaggerated and vilified, when they were no more serious than other territorial conquests made by everyone else. This is why why declare in an incontestable manner that those who accuse Japan of inhuman rights are no less than cynics.

Take australia. Their bloody conquest of Papua New Guinea has gone unnoticed, yet the claims and cries of our brothers of the big island resonate in our ears like nailed spears.

I keep a status quo in the relations of our japanese friends and offer the nation of Perftopia a mutual defense agreement to withstand the despotic expansionism of the australian state. We must clarify though, our strength is based in our mighty and unrivaled navy across the world, yet our land army is almost nonexistent. It is in naval ops and blockading where we can serve useful.

the Roman Empire would like to remind UAR that their actions to Oceania is uncomfortably close to bullying. Cut it out.

also, we are unaware that Oceania had the largest navy in the world... doesn't japan make better use of that claim? they did basically obliterate the Roman-platonic naval force in Taiwan and elsewhere.

To confirm Japan no longer has the largest navy in the world!
The United Emirates now hold that title. And they're an NPC so nyeh.

The ridiculous and arbitrary comments made by the current Nauru administration on the situation in Vietnam and their outlandish and unsupported naval claims both do wonders to discredit the already shaky reliability of the Oceanian government. The fact that Nauru finds public evidence verified by several sources and the subsequently reasonable and veritable claims to be reportedly 'exaggerated and vilified', thusly going against already established facts and ignoring true matters of contention, as well the nature of their military bluff both prove to elucidate the fallacious nature of the Oceanian government, whereas they seek solely short-term profit in blatant disregard of general moral protocol and international opinion, both serve as perfectly valid grounds for any sort of political or diplomatic 'attack', as some may call it, towards Oceania.

Only once an official investigation into Australian colonial affairs is conducted can we determine the status of the currently unverified Oceanian claims with regards to Papua and New Zealand.

Howevre, whilst the Chinese government does urge the Oceanians to rethink their inherently fallacious behavior, we do not as of yet show any official support for the mildly over-kill UAR sanctions proposition.

Nope, Second best :shifty:

BairTheNormal, I never denied such claimed 'atrocities' perpetrated by the Japanese government, I only said that Japan is being put as the Sauron of this IO14, when many nations here have done actions that can and should be object of comparison with the ones Japan made.
You accuse me of banal, ridiculous, arbitrary, etc. comments speaking like you were the bearer of some sort of voice of the authority. But you yourself fall in the sophist talking you accuse me of, saying this like "the already shaky reliability of the Oceanian government (sauce plz)" or "Nauru finds public evidence to be reportedly 'exaggerated and vilified' "(I never said that), or "blatant disregard of general moral protocol (sauce again, gooby plz).
Also, I do not have claims on NZ as long as its occupied by Perfection and he recognizes our friendship.
