Closing Remarks

Loved it? Hated it? Fortunately this is the first and last time Security Council nominations work this way. From here on in, it'll be up to the General Assembly to negotiate each year's five replacement members. And remember, the half-termers finish at the end of this year, so you should have figured out a system by the Winter update.

The social group is almost finished and should finally open up in the next few hours. Joining the UN as a Member State means your country has ratified the UN Charter, but while it is not obligatory, please also declare whether you have ratified the Rome Statute.

Are we going to declare if we ratified the Rome Statute in the social group? If it's in the thread, I think there's something new to add to the drinking game ;)

Either-or, you can also just VM me if you don't want to clutter the threads.

And I think the way the game works is, take a shot whenever a player refuses to recognize the International Courts. :mischief:

China has not and will not ratify the Rome Statute.

The ILO is the only legitimate institution within the UN.

Frankly, the only one that matters, as well.

The HFM does not ratify this Statute.

Speaking of which, there isn't a state to recognise the Rome Statute, considering the natural fact that states are oppressive. Did you know that all ballots you sent were recycled and used in an eco-clean Catalan commune? You just did.

All Caribbean islands are to be included in North America, including the mysteriously absent ABC islands.

Secondly, a country's continental region is defined as wherever its capital is.

New Chief of Joint Staff

3tF5OJG.jpg

The government has appointed General Fan Changlong as the new Chief of Joint Staff after General Xu Qiliang retired. Fan Changlong is not an unknown or random figure. He has for years been a hero among conservatives due to his strong anti-communist views and the books on military tactics and politics that he has authored as well as because he fought extremely well against the communists during the Second Chinese Civil War. The opposition is divided about this appointment: The Social Democratic Party has issued a statement that it considers the appointment of such a conservative and anti-communist General as attempt to control the armed forces and an act of authoritarianism while the Confucian Party has congratulated the government for choosing such a patriot as the new Chief of Joint Staff. Fan Changlong has stated that he is deeply honored to be able to serve the nation in such a high position and that he will not disappoint the people of China.
