To everybody: Thank you all for your great suggestions and assistance. I am going to use, if not all, parts of each of your ideas. As although I do have my own personal preferences and ideas generally laid down, I am more than happy to change a lot of those to accomodate all of yours. Excellent thoughts so far, so please, keep them coming

(oh, and sorry for the long post

Not ideal, but the Tarascan UU could use the Inca Pikeman by Dom Pedro II. It could be called simply Garrison.
CivArmy's Taino Piroga could be the UU for one of the Caribbean civs.
I will probably keep the graphics I have for the tarascan UU, as I really like those graphics and I think they fits pretty well (despite the fact that it is not meant to be mesoamerican at all). I am using the Inca Pikeman, but for a different purpose and for other civs. I like the name Garrison a lot better than what I had though.
There aren't any Caribbean civs in the mod. However, I will have 'specialized' barbarians to fill the roles of other peoples I have left out, including pre-placed units of different types. The Taino Piroga can certainly be one of those units.

I'm working on two unit projects at the moment, a simple Nubian archer cut and paste, and a slightly more difficult Aztec Rifleman to fill out the 19th century spot for that civ. After that, I will see what I can do.
BTW Red, have you checked out Steph's American Conquest conversions? THeres quite a few units there that you could put to great effect.
Those sound like they will be excellent additions to our unit graphics. Good luck with them. I checked Steph's conversions like you suggested and found a few that would fit perfectly, and they will now replace some of the current 'filler' graphics.

Redalert, you should try to find a unit to serve as a non-Eagle Spearman of some sort, something like the picture below:. Also, I'd try and find another graphic to use besides the Impi...
I agree, I would also prefer something different. I think there is something in the American Conquest conversions to replace both the Eagle Spearman and the Impi. I don't believe there is anything around that looks quite like that picture (unfortunately, as it does look interesting), but I'm sure I've found something that works just as well.

There are a few things I´d like to point out:
- You should put an "impassable" stretch of terrain between the Andean area and the Meoamerican area proper. It would be ridiculous to have the Mapuche waging war aginst the Aztecs.
- For the Aztecs, you should put two more UU´s: Otontin Warriors and Cuauciqueh Warriors. Both were warrior tribes which the Aztecs massacred but respected; if you want any info on those two, just PM me.
- Another unit you should put are Nahuatl Mercenaries. They helped in wars, acting as auxiliaries (archers, atl-atl-carrying javelineers and slingers) for the Aztec and Mayan armies. You should also put a "Mercenaries" resource or something like that as necessary for building it. Ask The Last Conformist about the pics for it.
- Will you use munits or single-figure units?
I agree about the Mapuche - Aztecs thing. Fortunately, I have worked out a few ways to stop the civilizations expanding both too far and too quickly.
I have also planned for an 'allied warrior' to be recruitable given access to a mercenaries resource, just like you mentioned. I like the name Nahuatal Mercenaries better though so that is what I will call them.
Single-figure units will probably make up all the units in the mod. However, I may later have use for one or two munits, so that does not put them out of the question.

Well, I normally don't post previews of my units anymore. But, since you're trying to figure out your unit lines, I thought I should let you know that I'm working on an atlatl guy. I'm really quite pleased with the look of this guy, so I'm not going to change the model. I just wanted to let you know that it will be available to you, so you can have a spot for it planned out--if you decide to use it.
That is a wonderful looking unit, utah, and I also would not change a thing. I know exactly how I can use it, too. I appreciate the ahead-of-time preview as well.
