In the Shadow of Rome

To France
From Columbia

We could care less about the USCA- what we want is the return of our soveign territory immediatly. The act of seizure by England is a declaration of war and shall be treated as such until the time it is returned to us. We are not allied with this rogue regime and such our territory should have been respected. Do as you wish with them but our territory must be respected.

We second the Dutch sentiment.

To: Colombia

Your grievances will be taken into account.

To France and the Dutch
From the EASR

We shall attend this confrence and we shall like to offer Rome as a place to host it however we warn you now we will accept nothing short of the complete restoration of all USCA territory to the rightful government of the USCA and the restoration of all Colombian territory to Colombia. The time of imperialism has passed and those who seek to extend imperialism are no friends of the Soviet government.

ooc: Ice Eye, Actually I was wanting to talk to Swiss about my nes, not this one so yeah, I just happened to post it here.

Then again you have always been one to question other peoples motives, not likely you will change is it? Next time you have something to say about me, at least keep it off the threads.

"Our grievences will be taken into account"? Excuse me if I must rephrase this as you seem to not be getting the point. Should England refuse to immediatly remove itself from our land, The USCA shall find itself another ally in this pointless war. We did not enter this war and the English government has NO right to dare interfere in our domestic affairs.

The fact that we're even discussing this is a testament to our desire to keep peace, but we refuse to have our independence violated ever.

To Colombia
From the EASR

Rest assured that if it comes to war that the Soviet government will stand shoulder to shoulder with the Colombian in ensuring that what is rightfully yours is returned.

From: The Republic of Russia
To: England

Remove yourself from the Panama Canal, immediately. Your gross violation of Colombian soveriegnty will not be looked kindly upon. This is a war with the USCA, not Colombia.

To: Colombia
From: England

We have offered you compensation and our forces will be removed upon the end of the war against the USCA. We will be willing to raise the compensation to 5 IC.

@IceEye, it takes a while for blockades to take effect.

@SwissEmpire, I slept on it, and i've decided that das is quite right, though the amount of territory taken by the French was perhaps too much, though it is reasonable to believe that San salvador fell in a rapid assault, probably on one of the very last days of the month. The Galapagos will still be returned though.

We apologize for the lateness of this response, but we will agree to the NAP.

To: Columbia

Um? Actually I have no idea what you are talking about. We never offered you a NAP. And we will not, until you step back from any anti-Brazilian alliances.

To: Anti-USCA

If we can be of any help, please inform us. We already told the Netherlands, that we support them in this conflict.

All right, i'm fixing up the update and stats now. USCA will get back some of its fleet and the Galapagos.

Diplomatic Statement from the Soviet Politboro in Rome

After reviewing the diplomacy of the USCA towards England, France and the Netherlands we withdraw all support to the USCA and kick them out of the International Committern for inciting wars with dangerous rhetoric that does nothing to advance the cause of the international proletariat.

We do however continue to call upon England's immediate removal of all forces from Colombian territory as this tresspass is considered a direct attack on Colombian sovereignty which the Soviet government will Internvene on the Colombian behalf if not carried out right away. Your war is with the USCA not Colombia let it remain so.

We thank you for your support, but still express hopes for a diplomatic resolution of the conflict.

We will support you in every way possible. This can of course also be diplomacy.

I wonder if j eps has ever heard the saying about moderates being shot at from both sides.... haha. Good story mate!

Yes I have heard that. In fact, I'm somewhat planning on it. The one thing it does do is enable me to choose which side I join, and lean towards them, either communist or facist but I like to do things issue by issue in everything but real politics.

EDIT: The random number generator has spoken for the people! It chose centrist, which I was happy with. The people now wish to enter.....

Industry is the heart of your nation, if your industry collapses so will your nation. Some nations are decidely more powerful industrial forces than others, and this will be reflected. ICs are the spending points of your game, ICs are needed for research and production of units. To increase industry you must pay a price double of your existing amount. I.E. to raise from 4 to 5 you must pay 8 IC or to raise from 7 to 8 you must pay 14 IC. You can trade IC points for tech or weapons from other nations.

I asked the same thing at first. It is in the rules, but I accidently skipped over it.

We are glad that the misunderstanding was cleared up and that conflict has been averted, especially with the English promise to withdraw.

From: France
To: England, Colombia

As a compromise, we propose that Colombia should simply allow the anti-USCA forces to use the Canal (and forbid that to USCA for the duration of the conflict), while England should withdraw from the Canal region and pay Colombia its compensation. The quick end of this war is in the interests of all, especially Colombia (the interests of which could only be impaired by the survival of the USCA naval threat - as, unable to give open battle, the USCA fleet will inevitably commit itself to commerce raiding, to the detriment of its fellow Carribean nations and foremost).

This is, however, very negotiatable. We understand the fury of the Colombian government, but ask it to try and understand also the concerns of the English government and the anti-USCA coalition.
