Not quite - it's the Viscount Slim, who rose from being a private soldier into being Cheif of the Imperial General Staff. One of the greatest British military leaders of all time (although pinched by the Diggers as their national hero)

Slim was one bad-arse bastard. Its a pity the Burman theater gets essentially no attention, some pretty amazing and just downright cool things happened there.
