Indonesia First Look

I had been a bit worried about Indonesia overlapping with the vikings (coastal attacks with a potential religious side focus), but based on the first look, they seem much closer to Australia. The coastal district bonus is going to work a lot like Australia's appeal bonus in practice (though it does apply to a few different districts) and the UI will similarly allow tall coastal cities. Attaching some of those bonuses to a water-based UI is a good idea, though. I wouldn't want to see improvements for default water tiles as a default mechanic (water should be useful to cities in different ways than land), but I do like them as a civ unique.

I like the improvements to the religious mapmode too. The more restrained use of color will make switching in and out a lot less jarring. If we're very lucky, maybe it will even give us as much information as the default map mode did in civ V.

Unique Improvement: Kampung: build on coastal tiles adjacent to a water resources, provides housing, production and food for each adjacent fishing boat, can be improved later in the game through further tech research.
I bet it's gonna be tourism!

also another Firaxis logo

Spoiler :

Actually there was a comment on Reddit I saw yesterday by one of the Firaxis artists - apparently every leader has the logo present on them somewhere, but a lot of the vanilla ones are kind of hard to spot so the DLC leaders are more blatant :crazyeye:

Yes Pete Mentioned in on Twitter too, might go for a check at some point

That Kampung could be pretty awesome combined with a fully built harbour, literally swimming in gold.

The Jong needs an escort to get +5 but it is at least +5....on an already strong unit and those escorts count toward flanking. Not sure about the value of speeding up the escort, much more useful earlier but certainly gives more value to the Great Lighthouse. I wonder if it keeps its value on upgrade.... still building a Jong rather than upgrading a quad?.. certainly a stronger ship and they get free faith on the coast for purchasing ships

Those adjacency values are nice and saner that the Oz ones.

Another religious that does not need a religion

I know some Indonesians who'll be happy to see this.

So they used the Borobudur ship instead of the Kris swordsmen for the unique unit, good to have some variety.

So no Borobudur then?

I'm sad.

Anyone noticed that the Indonesian forces attacked an Australian city

I love the music. Once again Geoff Knorr delivers.

I remember a Civ5 mod which had the Kampong as a unique coastal tile improvement, I think it was either for Malaysia or Brunei.

I like this civ, and Gitarja really is very beautiful. I am surprised that the developers have chosen Kampung as the only infrastructure, I was waiting for Candi. Kampung is interesting because it is not regular improvement of land

It seems that no wonder was noticed in the video, will we only have Agkor Wat in this DLC and we will not have Borobudur?

I think the video said you get an extra ammenity if the entertainment complex is next to a non-lake coast tile, not that it gets one for either.

I wouldn't necessarily be so sure about that. It might be they want to leave something for the livestream to be revealed, too.

Maybe they are saving some things for the livestream later?
