He never had made a pilgrimage in his whole life, and led the nation in a path of seperating beliefs from Israel. He wanted Axum to live on their own, with nobody being able to stop that.

The new king, Yehoshua ben Avimelech was the opposite. He was more religious than his father, and believed the best thing for Axum was healthy relations with their neighbours. He is a pacifist, and believes that the word of Hashem is law, and must be followed. He declares a monthlong period of mourning for his father, and sends a delegation to Israel to patch up their relations. His reformations are wildly popular with the people, who were growing restless and worried about offending the 2nd most powerful nation in the world. With the sound of the Shofar, Axum begins on a new path, a path of peace and enlightenment. Or so they hope...

You know what I just realized? There hasn't been a single shred of posted diplo on the Egypto-Roman-Israeli-Byzantine-Assyrian megaconflict, yet. I wonder what that means...
