Crtl + Alt + Delete, go to applications and shut down IE, I dont get infected then.....

That's what I do, but of course, it totally sucks because you lose any work you were doing in internet explorer at the time.

I have FireFox and the Adblocker extension, and never got, it, so until this is resolved, I would suggest using it.

And what are some of these viruses? Are any spy ware? Im asking because I will be getting my computer refurbished next week, and will be using my local libraries computer, and I cant download extensions.

That's not good. I emailed Telefragged 3 or 4 times already about this and they also contacted UGO a few times. I have emailed them again. Please keep reporting when you see them.

I highly recommend switching to FireFox if you haven't already. I think those trojan ads use ActiveX, so you are safer with FireFox (which doesn't support ActiveX). You also don't see those once a day ads using FireFox.

If you can't use FireFox for some reason, try increasing IE's browser security setting to HIGH.

Good to see you do what you can.

If this problem continue, is it possible for you to stop using them and instead get ads from another source?

I have blocked all ads with Norton, I don't even see the once-a-day ad. If you have some ad blocking software, try to block takeoverad.html? on forums.civfanatics.com.

I use IE, and it is by the way not necessary to set the security to "High". I prefer to instead use custom settings and deny certain things, but this requires a little knowledge.

You don't have to use the Task Manager, you can just push ALT + F4, or right click on the task bar and select Close.

About losing work:
I guess you mean that you shut down more than one IE windows when you terminate IE with the Task Manager.
This happens if multiple IE windows is run by the same process.

Reason:
When you open a new IE window by clicking a link in a web page, the new window will be run by the same process.

Solution:
Open new IE windows by launching IE from the Start menu or another shortcut (like a quick-launch icon).

Sometimes IE stops responding, maybe because an error on a web page. If I am afraid of losing work on a web page, I always open other web pages by this method.

Do whatever you have to to get rid of the ads... We may have to temporarily remove those ads too if UGO doesn't remove the bad ad soon.

This certainly does not look good for the advertisers, since if Ads continue to give viruses, then we must stop having as here from ever being here again. This is a very serious problem.

I've seen the popstar one often with Firefox, and have never gotten any warning. I think it's the lower one that's the problem. And both the old problem one and the new one advertise gift cards, which I don't think is a coincidence.

Glad to see the initial problem was solved and you're keeping on top of the new ones. At least it looks like there's a pattern that might help Telefragged prevent them in the future.

Wow, I never knew about this, I have gotten this at least 15 times in the past month, I get the same microsoft downloader and active X control window thingie. I also hear the dings you get when you download something, and I was like WTH.
