Information Drought?

It seems every week we say they will reveal one next week. The Drought Cycle continues...

The way I see it, the longer we have to wait, the more densely packed the info will be coming in later. We just have to be patient.

I agree with blackcatatonic.
They likely will reveal 2 civs this month (probably this week), and the remaining 2 civs in June. Spread the sought out info a bit and all. :)

In June, one civ will be revealed in the first week, and some time later, they will reveal the dark horse civ.

I'm not sure that there even is a 'dark horse' any more. At one time I would have said it was Italy, but now if anything they look like shoo-ins.

Of course, if the two Civs next revealed are Indonesia and Morocco (instead of, as I suspect, Italy and Morocco), then we might see Venice as something of a 'dark horse'...

Yeah I think we're all expecting what we've guessed but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised to see a complete curveball in the mold of Sweden that throws everyone off guard (would actually be pleasantly surprised if that curveball is Canada but I can just picture the forums exploding...)

Canada without Montreal and Quebec would certainly be interesting...

I'd really like to see some curve balls as well. I don't think Italy is set in stone at all. We'll all have to wait and see. Morocco may not even come in the form we're expecting.

Judging from the threads on the forum and how every tidbit of information is being analysed out dry, I think we really need more info or we will start to turn on each other soon. :P

Oddly enough I believe we'll get all four of the remaining civs in May. Two will be revealed in the gaming magazines and then the final two will be revealed in the last week of May by Firaxis. The last two will be the "dark horses" and Firaxis will have us guess a shadow, like 5000 times on Facebook or show us small bit of the leader-art like with Sweden last time.
Or they could combine all three into one and we'll have to like 5000 times a part of the picture of a leader's shadow in order to get the full picture of the shadow.:crazyeye:

Dont give them ideas :nono:

Why does everyone now assume Morocco is in? An offhand comment is hardly proof. He could've just been referring to Marrakesh, or pulling names out of a hat.

Because it was an odd choice that was very different from previous references in that it did not seem to be a joke. In addition, they said there were hints for new civs on the poster they showed at PAX and there appears to be a Moroccan Kasbah on that poster. Finally, they said there are North African Civs in the Scramble for Africa scenario and Morocco would be appropriate there. Some of the achievements to win that scenario are currently hidden, which suggests a full Civ can get that achievement. Given the combination of civs and city-states, Morocco is the most logical to fit that.

So we're going with the presumption that Morocco is in because it fits the evidence the best and serves to strengthen rather than weaken the belief that the quote was a reference to a Civ in the game and not just pulling a name out of the hat.

Very true. However, he did mention it in the context of an in-game mechanic, which is stronger than just mentioning it otherwise.

Also, there is a structure on the poster which resembles images of a Kasbah. And they told us a clue was on the poster back at PAX. Now that structure could easily be something new for Arabia if they are getting a makeover too in the fashion of France.

But since both those factors exist, it is a compelling case for Morocco.

Personally, I'd put the likelihood of Morocco at 50%. I don't consider it a lock by any stretch.

OK, that does make it seem a lot more likely, thanks.

Back on topic.

Today looks like a bust in the big game magazine article department. They always come out starting in the morning. Let's hope that Kate drops us a shadow hint or something on the Facebook account later today. Otherwise, we start singing "Tomorrow" like Little Orphan Annie.

It's going to be the shadow of:
Spoiler :
Pocahontas of the Powhatan

I think the past couple have been at the end of the week because the mid-month landed on a weekend. I'm partial to thinking that Wednesday has the highest chance of success because it's the Ides of May.
