I hope the next civs reveal won't be teased with darkened icons, like Morocco and Indonesia. Those were far too easy. Shadows are nice, Maria's shadow yielded a good amount of pages of discussion. I wouldn't mind bits of concept art either, like they did with Gustavus, but they'd have to give something to talk about.
Yes, I've long hoped for a musical hint... sadly though the way they've been doing the reveals suggests that they will go for something a little more obvious.
The whole process seems to be driven by Facebook this time around which, whatever you think about Facebook, has taken some of the fun away from it.

I think a problem with musical themes is that it'd either be ridiculously obvious (Du Gamla Du Fria, I Vow to Thee, Epitaph of Seikilos), or ridiculously vague (Siam's, Inca's).
Obviously the obvious ones are obvious (obviously ), but there's fun to be had with the vague ones! Even if we can't point to a specific one, we could try and dissect it to get, at least, a geographical location/a culture, and extrapolate from there.
For added fun, have, say, four snippets from four different themes - only one of them is from an unrevealed civilization. Don't tell us that (or, at least, don't tell us which is it). Watch the forums erupt in speculation. ...? PROFIT!

Yeah, the Gustavus idea might be a good idea for the next one. Or maybe they show the UU or something. If it's Venice, it'll be confirmed very quickly by a silhouette because of the hat. I suppose a Native American one would be difficult.
This.
Dandolo should be standing on a galley, wearing a mix of crusader armour and expensive robes while blindly waving his sword around if you insult him during negotiation.
Bonus points for either Venice or a burning Constantinople in the background .

I am Askia of the Songhai Dandolo of Venice. We are a fair people - but those who cross us will find only destruction. You would do well to avoid repeating the mistakes others have made in the past.
Dandolo was an extremely old, ambitious, influential Italian. While I can see him on a galley, I don't think he'd be wearing armor or holding a sword. He should be more like a mafia Don. He keeps his hands folded in front of him with sparse gesticulations. However when you make him mad, he will ominously raise a gnarled finger and draw it silently across his throat.
Greetings.
I am Enrico Dandolo, Doge of Venice and ruler over the seas. I hope you like this moonlight gondola ride through Venice I had specifically arranged for this meeting. *Claps hands and romantic violin starts playing*
Now, my friend, I have an offer you simply cannot refuse.
Come on, I don't want no burning Constantinople... I don't think that'd represent Venice accurately - their power was not that of hands-on destruction.
