does anyone know how this can happen? a slave worker that isn't a slave, and didn't even upgrade to become an industrial worker when the era's changed..... im soo confused

I'm not so sure what exactly what's going on there, but I DO know that when I capture a worker and later save and quit, that when I load the game again, all of my slave workers look like normal workers. I haven't ever checked to see if they "turn into" industrial worker, though...

(but...as evidenced above, I guess they don't!)

but the thing is.... i started this game at about noon today, and i haven't gotten out of it... or even saved it for that matter

Perhaps it was a bug caused by the huge map (huge maps will sometimes f*** up the game somehow)

If you capture an enemy city and build a worker in it, the worker will come out looking normal, but be another nationality.

wouldn't it "upgrade" to an industrial worker though? i built several workers in those newly captured cities, and its the only one that looks like that

Hes playing dressups.:goodjob:

It seems to be sort of random whether workers built from captured cities with foreign citizens as to whether they "look like" slaves or not. Try saving your game (ctl+s), quit the game and start it up again. I'll bet it will look like a slave then. I've had it happen many times. :)

Found this food rich spot in a solo game I'm now playing (Huge, Regent, Maya):

Red dot has access to seven flood plain wheats. It became my FP city and now is size 15 and easily doing growth in 1, now and for some time to come:

The game is not finished yet but I surely intend to let it last until this city has reached its max size. Full potential is 54 citizens:

city center: 3
7 irrigated railed flood plain wheats: 49
9 irrigated railed flood plain: 45
4 irrigated railed desert: 12
Total food: 109

Irrigated and railed desert only give two food, so 4 desert will only give 8, not 12.

For Agricultural civs, deserts are the same as plains, so irrigated and railed deserts do give three food.

I always thought so too and you're right that irrigated and railed deserts give three food. But a mined and railroaded desert gives 0f3s, as you can see in the city screen picture, but a mined and railroaded plains would do 1f3s. So where does the agricultural food bonus of desert go when you mine the desert???

there is none, it's only for irrigated deserts.

LOOK AT ALL THE WHEAT!!! Tulum's citizens have a lot of bread to eat.

Just too bad that city will never make very many shields, unless you make a bunch of Engineers...

Well in size 56 he could still get 36 engineers, which is 72 shields, so as long as he doesn't make units, he should be alright.

Did you put the Fungineers in after commenting in my post? Any how, I was trying to see how many people are even possible to support, I got around 71, but that is a very lucky city.

Yeah, you'd need 20 Floodplain Wheats.
