Interesting Screenshots

Figure out what units you need and what ones you don't. Why don't you start a new thread and post a save and screenshots, you'll get plenty of advice.

you'll get plenty of advice.

And after you get all the basics it will start to become like the civ advisers... the only way to make them all happy is to ignore what they say. :yup: Practice makes perfect. :D

how do you post thinks as big pictures and not little thumbnails?

You can do it two ways: either host them on another site like photobucket or imageshack and the use the image link option in the comment, or you can upload them to CFC, look at your attachment, and then copy that link into the link option box in the comment screen.

Really this question should be in technical support, but it's fine.

just go to that forum and upload your scenerio file at the bottom through manage attachments. Click browse and go to C:\Users\YourUSERNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Civilization III Complete\Conquests\Scenarios
for vista
and go to
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Civilization III Complete\Conquests\Scenarios
for XP to find it.

then click ok and upload.

Wait a second... is that where the save files are stored in Vista? Not in C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\Saves? Maybe that's why my Civ3 files never showed up after I saved them and Civ3 never worked for me on Vista.

Although occasionally it actually did save a game in C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\Saves - just not often enough that I could rely on it. Usually it told me it had them saved there in the Load menu, but whenever I tried to actually load the game, or see if it was there in Windows Explorer, there was no trace of the saved game whatsoever. Needless to say, not being able to play Civ3 made Vista an entirely unacceptable operating system to keep using.

Yeah, Vista saves Civ3 in Virtual Store. It does the same with other games as well. Yes, it is extremely annoying.

A poor and lonesome cowboy ...

Spoiler :

... though not exactly poor, but certainly far away from home, as the Netherlands are in the NE of the other continent.

That must be an extra huge map with that much empty space that late. At least 250x250. And on a pretty big monitor... 22 inch widescreen?

320x320, that's double huge in both x and y, so 4 times more land. I think the first "Too many cities" was at 150AD or so. The screen is actually from my laptop, screen is 15 inch (1440x900 pix).

Bet there's some long interturns on that map. Guess you can do like other superhuge maps, raze enemy cities, settle your own and eventually the world is yours.

I'm sure you'll build quite a few airports and air bases when you get the chance

Yep, here you see the airfield in development in my main production center.

It is a bit of a pain that artillery can't get airlifted. Neither can armies (even empty ones). And bombers only rebase at max 6 times the operational range, that's 60 tiles, which is not too much on a 320x320 map.

That is very cool, did you speed up research or increase the turn amount,Is the Cowboy still on the other side of the world?

I'm surprised that's all you've built on your main continent. With such a large territory, I'm sure you'll be building a large amount of forces to move to one area at a time
what I wanna' know is what happened with your gold? You went from 6797 and +1269 per turn to 1888 and +78 per turn
