Interesting Screenshots

I think the city center square wouldn't give three commerce unless it's built by a river, so my guess is that there is an invisible river.

:rotfl: Holding my sides on that one.

I'm no expert here, but this seems to be Carthage, so isn't it: 1 commerce by default, 2 commerce for the seafaring bonus on a coastal location, 3 for being in a government with a commerce bonus? That would mean no river. My guess is that an aquaduct is one of the build options in this town.

Welcome back in town, NickyH! :band:

I seem to have started a collection of horrible starting positions found while testing the Playground Mod.

What I love about both of these is that in Playground Mod 2.0, cities can't be built on tundras or deserts.

I'd say your map settings need to be warm/wet, 5 byo to eliminate those large stretches of useless land. Those starts would be very ugly even for standard civ 3.

Del62, you could use 'Preview Post' before 'Submit Reply to see whether everything has gone right.
For just showing a picture most people here just use the image tags, that comes instead of the url tags.
If you want to resize an image before uploading, are just show a part of a whole screenshot, a program like http://www.irfanview.com/ is quite handy. It takes screenshots, but also does some image editing.

I hope to see some nice pictures now, if you're doing your turn in the succession game you're in! :D

I have had this happen many times, but I never thought to take a screen shot. This unit made a leader for the third time in the last turn.

You can see I left the original type name in place, MDI. My number scheme shows he made the 6th leader in the game. Then at some point was upgraded to Guerilla and made another leader number 17.

Finally he was upgraded to a TOW as you see him now. I have several others with 2 leaders under their belts and will surely make a third as some point as I am going for conquest on a 250x250. Still 26 nations left. Nukes will surely fly.

Game ran into trouble right away with hitting the 512 city limit and has been slow going. I had mountains and hills on two sides and water on another.

I am not making any effort to get leaders from these units, just using as the opportunity comes along. I have a Sword that made two, but missed one upgrade, so will not make a 4 timer. Maybe someday.

Thanks VMXA! I didn't realize that an upgraded elite star, could make another leader, once it became a new unit type.

The MDI got the star after it made the leader. Later I upgraded it to Guerilla, now it is a vet. It needed to get promoted to elite. Then it needed to win some elite battle and then generate another leader.

Later do it again, upgraded to ToW vet. Win and promote to elite. Win again and gen a 3rd leader. Just to make it clear to everyone. I know some do not run into that as they do not see that much combat.

Easy enough in a 30 nation AW game, you just have to name them each time, so you are aware that it happened.

That is a good question, not sure that I am the one to answer it though. :D I blame it on Greebley as he got me playing those types of games. At least this one is not AWDG. Now those are insane. One 10 turn set I had 31 leaders in an AWDG. Could have had more, but ran out of elites and was nearing the max armies for the town count.
