Into The Future

I have to wonder what those Siamese mechanized infantry are doing near Artuin.

I have an idea what they might be doing, which I will probably speak of in a future update.

the update was awesome!!!!!

That's what I said in the OP. Why are you quoting that?

Moderator Action: Spam bot removed - just as a general reminder: report spam bots (thanks for that) but please do not quote them - doing so makes cleanup a lot harder. And of course discussing them like here without quotes just leaves disjointed discussion once they are removed ;)

now back to our regularly scheduled thread discussion please...

Biologist, thanks for the link and for reporting the bot(if you did do that).

Maybe I'll just edit my post responding to that and make it into an update.

so what happens if you click one of the links?

Just decided to put the updates down here. I'm just doing at least a couple of little foreign affairs' updates.

Spoiler :
As mentioned previously, even if they didn't directly aid the Ottomans, some nations did not take kindly to the US declaration of war, the most notable of which was the newly-reformed Iriquois nation.
Even though there wasn't much they could do to stop it, the Iriquois people continued to oppose the war, even though the US had liberated them twice from their oppressors. And eventually, they openly declared a state of war between them and the Songhai.
This wasn't worrying to the US, however, as the Iriquois had almost no military and posed no threat, but many people began to believe this strange decision was merely meant to go a step further in showing the US how much they opposed what it was doing.
But the Iriquois people had other worries. Japan and the Aztecs had been in war now for some time. And succeeding where American forces had failed in the Aztec-American War, Japanese forces captured the ancient Iriquois capital Onondoga, which was occupied by the Aztecs. With this, Japan and the Aztecs signed a peace treaty. This left the small Iriquois nation wide open to a Japanese assault.
It didn't take long for the Communists to seize the opportunity. They invaded Iriquois territory with their advanced weaponry, and quickly overran the entire country.

Ever since the end of the Aztec-American War, the US had been concerned that with two aggressive superpowers so close to the Iriquois, they could have been conquered again. But as the Iriquois became so opposed to the war against the Ottomans, most Americans lost any concern for the Iriquois people. But it would remain to be seen if the US would ever restore their independence again.

Spoiler :
Another nation that seemed to be opposed to the war was Communist Siam. The United States had had strained relations with them for many years, and they almost always kept troops next to the American border.
During the war with the Ottomans, Siam, like the Iriquois, also declared war on the Songhai. It was believed by the US that they were merely following suit with the Iriquois, in announcing hostilities just to show their opposition. The US did not really believe they intended to actually attack the Songhai.
But this changed when American forces reported seeing what was believed to be the Siamese navy off the coast of the island of Artuin.

The US began to wonder, was Siam really going after the Songhai? Were they working with the Ottomans? And would they really go so far as to invade Songhai lands? Only time would tell....

after what the iroquois did to me in diety edition, i hate their guts. i want the Japanese to raze EVERY city they have. and if the siamese become a threat, just wipe them out, you have the biggest and baddest military, so use it!

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to let them hurt the Songhai again if I can help it.

And just thought I'd let everyone know, that I think this game(not the thread) has actually been going on for over a year now, since it started in the ancient era.

wow.:cooool:

btw i am going to use my other accound for stories that require pics. I will use this one occasionally

It turns out that Artuin is in the Ottoman city list so it was settled by the Ottomans.
Though considering what the Ottomans have done I think it's best to give it to Songhia wouldn't wan't Ottomans to be invading again:scan:.

Yeah, even if I had known that I probably still would have given it to the Songhai or kept it myself.

It's likely that it was settled after the Ottoman conquest of Songhai. That happens with AIs quite a lot. I saw a border once between the Toyotomi and Russian empires, and Novgorod was not only on the Toyotomi side, said empire had settled the city of Fushimi beyond it. That usually means the war happened early on - Novgorod was conquered before I met the Toyotomi.

Does anyone know what happened to smallfish? He last posted April 2nd. Seems he's just fallen off the face of the forum.
