Introducing and Developing the Interesting Times Concept.

Um... WHAT hostile culture groups? Although, there will be hostility, as I already said, conflicts WITHIN culture groups are often much worse then those between them.

I think (yes im not sure ;) ) I just meant different culture groups ^^.

Give us at least 24 hours notice before you open the nes for reservations this time PLEASE!

Okay...
I think (yes im not sure ) I just meant different culture groups ^^.

Assimilating them will be a problem, as well as diplomacy (cultural barriers until you know that culture group for some time).

stalin, sure thing.

Btw - no comments on the economy idea? Still no comments?

That's because I didn't yet. Simply some ideas.
I am considering going towards the Stormbringer mode of economy, i.e. making it (sorry, Roddy) more "story-NES-like", or rather more individual. What I mean is, you can order to build more universities and temples and so on and invest a certain amount of money, and depending on it and on other things I will determine by how much will your education grow, if at all. Maybe.

So, in other words, either a version of NES2 III/IV rules, either the much less "board game"-like, but also more realistic, SB-style rules. I am currently leaning towards the latter.

nes III/IV!!!

thats one of the strongholds of your nes rules, altough i would add more levels to the economy..

the other idea can get nasty at updating

nes III/IV!!!

But that involves allowing (to use my previous example) to let Armenia raise the same amount of troops as China simply because Armenia sold some shotgun design to a whole lot of nations.

Well, that certainly.

Not sure about that... It will be less monotonous and more interesting for me to update the stats with it.

well das.
on behalf of the entire nesing community i will say that, noone really cares what you do. you are the mod and should do what is most interesting or easier for you.

As for the Das2 nes fans (such as myself) will surely join cus of your history of high quality nes history.

yeah, you'd better do that...

Sorry, I still have to work out the rules.

I don't think it will be a part of the NES2 series, more like the first in the ITNES series.

I would really appreciate it if more people were to say their opinions on the economy, because that I still didn't reach a final decision on that one. And it IS a crucial stat...

well, i would stick w/ the old one.

But how exactly would the other new system work? what kind of standards could be used for growing and building things?

Maybe you can use a sort of population stat in raising armies and such. Armenia shouldn't be able to raise a million man army.

well, that has absolutely nothing to do w/ the economy.

It would be simple to do, you just give a number the army of each nation simply cannot get past.

for example:
Germany: 100,000 men (out of possible 250,000)

What time frame are you using for that?...or is that Germany after everyone retaliates for your nuking them?...

I actually like stalin's idea, but how would one figure out possible army size? Maybe a tenth of their population maximum, any higher and they suffer the loss of eco points of (for Storm's system) some bad "random" events, like revolutions?
