Ionut's Civs

Whoa there buddy! Ambitious!

So, does that mean you're no longer "Retired?" ;)

Yeah, that sig needs some updating. Let me know if you need any UBs or stuff.

LOL the sig will stay. As it stands I'm not fully out of retirement. Work is still far to busy to allow this, however I had a hankering to play some civ (Played enough COD4 and NWN2 MoTB for now) and I needed to update and wouldn't you believe it I couldn't play my civs anymore so I had little choice but to update.

As for ambitious? No I think not. By my calculations currently Esnaz mod is the second largest collection of civs currently available at 14 (With CivGold adding around 45 by my count) for me to top that I only need to create 1 more civ and I'm there. However the plan is MUCH larger than that you can be assured!;)

I guess I better get working then...can't have Aranor get ahead of me... ;)

honestly I already am ahead (Unless you have alot of civs unreleased) At the moment there are 3 civs already created in Ionut's Civilizations 3.13 that are either released separately or completely unreleased.

Interesting...and how long have you been working on these? Longer than your sig has said retired no doubt!! :crazyeye:

I was just kidding, I'm not the type who is angry at other's work if its better. I am actually making a v.2, and I'm almost done with the graphics/research (I make all the graphics, then I do the XML work). I should have an additional 12 civs once I'm finished, unless there are any I decide to do at the last minute.

Actually I wasn't implying that you were angry in any way. My plan is to make this up to between 25 to 30 civs in the next release. I'm already at 15, with one just needing to be converted to BtS, and 2 others already researched, and just needed to be put together.

And CIV Gold profits from the plundering of both Aranor and esnaz....muahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Thats fine with me, just so long as I can borrow your flag making skills whenever I need them!

Yeah, I noticed you probably weren't implying I was angry, I changed my post anyway. Looking forward to the release, your civs are usually very unique :D

Thanks woodelf. My plan is to make this the second largest mod for custom civs released for BtS after CivGold.

What do you mean by custom civs in your point of view, right now i have 32 of my custom civs and working on more in my MOD, NFW.;)

Well considering that if I can keep my current pace up I will have about 41 - 45 ( I sat down to create my to do list and I doubled my list of civs) civs when this is released depending on how energetic I feel ( I'm hoping for a month or 2 at the most before its ready).

As for your mod honestly I am not familiar with it? Do you mean the Next Fantasy war mod? Honestly I have never downloaded it to look at it so I'm not 100% on this, but your mod would add more content than just civs yes? If so this mod only will add new civs with a couple of graphics enhancements ( EDU 3.13 and possibly Scorched Earth, not sure yet on that though) that is what I meant by second largest collection of civs available, a pure civ pack with no other changes or enhancements.

EDIT: After looking at your thread for Next Fantasy war I must say I am impressed. Although curious to know what work of mine you have included, as I doubt any of my civs are to your tastes and most of my units are in the ancient era.

Yeah , lots and lots of content, and i am adding more each day, but its hard since i really dont like dll changes and i cant use FPK for artwork to compack stuff also. As far as your work, i just put as much people in the credits as possible, just in case, maybe down the road. Mine has Fantasy/Sci Fi/ and future stuff, besides regular civ units. But again i am always looking for more stuff to put in. I have looked at some of your stuff, but really havent decided yet how or where i could use some of those units? If thats ok?:p

I can see what you mean with .dll changes. I hate them too, the only one I use is the 50civs .ddl as it makes it easier to see all of my work in game at 1 time when I'm testing. Although with 40+ civs going in the final version that might get difficult :mischief:

As for people using my work in their own mods I say go for it, I take it as a complement that they like my work enough to include it in something that is a very personal work ( to do any modding I feel it is a labor of love not a job, or else there is no point). I will have to D/L Next Fantasy war and check out that content, it really does look impressive. :goodjob:

I'd wait till the next version comes out, tons of changes included, and thx.;)
Best thing to remember for me and why i mod is to "Just Have Fun."
