IOT Clash of Ideologies

I remind you that it was the Norse who broke the pact by refusing to uphold its terms, thus why I announced it was no longer in effect, because for a pact to exist it requires the acceptance of both parties, and the Norse had renounced their obligations.

...commence because we had a defence pact with Carthage. We could have respected both and been neutral in a conflict.

Incidentally If you had not attacked me than you would not be in your current situation, because I had no intention of attacking you. But such is life I suppose, and now you will for the first time in an IoT face the full consequences of invoking my displeasure.

OOC: speaking in OOC instead of IC is rather a poor policy. I would suggest you reframe from such notions.

Also I remind you that this was said...

As such we will cede West Germany to Austria, declare that Normandy will be a French issue which we hope they agree to our suggestions of Norman devolved respect, remind Austria that we have no interest in Wales, remind Austria that it was it who made the claims to England for us so that we have no plots for England and demand a apology from Carthage for a clear violation of protocol for their 'indirect' denouncement of sovereignty.

Which you ignored demonstrates that you may win the game but you also demonstrate a form of ignorance of clear cut takings, a much greater greave than simply losing a game. Instead...

IC: ...the Norse notes of observing of Austria that 'this shows Carthage we were not planning to attack them' when your messages shown you were plotting a invasion eventually.

IC: The key word being, eventually. Which is to say, one was not imminently planned, there was merely the suggestion one could occur due to previously mentioned concerns that the Internationale was actively hostile to non-socialist powers.

OOC:

on Comment A: You stated you would not come to the assistance of Austria if war eventuated due to Carthaginian aggression. Ergo, you stated that you would not fulfil the Norses Obligations.

on Comment B: Its only poor policy if its plain cover for IC debate. I was discussing the past, and stating the self-evident. Arya for example noted the obvious before I even wrote anything. Interestingly enough he also notes one reason why I ignored your statements as the Norse.

As to your assertions on absolute gains, I note that I gain more by continuing the war with you now (particularly considering I have military superiority to a very high degree) that there is peace with Carthage than by ending it. Indeed I would actually have to endure an absolute loss (considering I own Scandinavia at the moment,) if I accepted peace on your terms. That said the main reason I am not going to accept peace with you is that you have shown yourself to be untrustworthy and arrogant in your dealings with myself and other players. I think its time that you got taught a very basic lesson, one which I've had the pleasure to teach Christos in various games before (and he is much the better player to interact with because of it. By jove he has changed a lot since he first joined the forums).
