I suppose if my tablet worked a bit better I could use that, but really, I prefer maps of the world where I can just draw in my own borders.

TK's map approach:
- small number of large provinces, sometimes named
- uses existing or historical borders
- prefers drawing/tracing a map from scratch

TFox's map approach:
- very large number of small provinces
- disregards existing or historical borders, has "blobby" provinces

Sonereal's map approach:
- hexes
- focus on terrain, gameplay rather than aesthetics

I don't completely ignore modern borders; I often just draw the general area rather than go entirely for it, though.

I suppose it's a revolt against the natural tendency to be an existing nation rather than one's own. I consider creativity one of the cornerstones of my games. So, by murdering your ability to fit into an already-existing nation like a puzzle piece, you need to become more imaginative.

True, TK, you make some of the best maps... But you forgot Nedim, who can do even better maps. Awesome maps, I'm telling you. Someday you should come to SonIOT Chat and ask Nedim for CivO's map.

I and HJ drew a horrible map for CivO once.
Although everything was HJ's fault with his thin borders obsession.
