People of Aragon! My father would be proud of us today! For, today we are surely the most cultured empire on this Earth! We are destined for greatness my people, and I am glad to be the King of such an illustrious place. It in this spirit of cultural greatness that my father, Ramiro I (may he live in peace), initiated the Great Reforms.
Today, I plan to make an equally astonishing reform! Recently digs made by my personal artifiact collectors have uncovered some old Roman coinage. They realized that all the coins were the same! It is this that gave me the idea to introduce a standard currency in Aragon! *Crowd Cheers* We shall call this currency the Dinero. It will be made in silver coin (1,5,10) and gold coin (20,50,100).
This should boost our economy by a substantial amount, and put us ahead of the Portugese by a lot! Today I leave you with this message my subjects, TRADE IN OR WE'LL DO IT FOR YOU(thanks stide gum

Pope Miltiades IV looked on his army with confidence.
The Siege of Alexandria was proceeding smoothly. For 2 and a half weeks, Papal forces have been bombarding this ancient city. The defenders had made three attempts to break the siege & relieve the city, but had been beaten my Miltiades tactical genius each time. The city was close to surrendering; only a little extra weight was needed to tip the scales in the Popes favor.
That weight came in the form of the Papal Navy. Cannons belched smoke & flame as the ship's fired from a line a dozen across & three deep. The citys crumbling defenses could take no more; they fell, & Papal troops swarmed into the city, capturing the Governor when he attempted to flee.
Miltiades IV confidently strolled over to the Governor. Do you see the damage following that false prophet has caused you, hmm? Well, fret not, for we are all Children of God. And at times, children need to be disciplined, lest they stray from the path of righteousness. But you shall get another chance. You all shall. Convert to Catholicism, & acknowledge me as the Pope. Beg for the forgiveness of the Almighty God, and you shall receive it.
In that instant, the Governor of Alexandria saw the truth. He begged forgiveness & converted on the spot. He begged the Pope to save his people, and, being a benevolent Pope, Miltiades granted him his request. Missonaries went from door to door, preached in the square, gave all within Alexandria knowledge of Biblical Truths. Within a week, nearly the entire city had accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior.
Ten days passed, and the Popes armies marched from the city, into the barren desert. The newly Catholic citizens of the city were sorry to see those who had put them on the righteous path go, but they knew that there was a whole world out there, a world in desperate need of Jesus, and so they made no complaints.
Pope Miltiades IV rode to the head of the column, accompanied by his elite Swiss Guards and called out to his men, March on, faithful followers of Christ. We must liberate all of Egypt from the oppression of the Muslims. March on, to Cairo!

OOC: Linkman, something just occurred to me
Will we be able to engage in diplomacy with the Natives of the Americas, Sub-Saharan Africa, & Asia immediately after their discovery? Because it should probably take a few turns to learn the languages of said Natives first.

Beat me to the chase. However my version includes a couple territorial shifts I made because of conflicts (i.e., with Cristos and the Holy See). So here's the version you should use from now on because I believe I have corrected for the poor quality complaints:
