GM notice
If I post and don't assign you a country or ask you to choose another it can be assumed that you've been given your first pick and pre-game roleplay can begin. This does not mean diplomacy but my ruleset allows for slight divergences in history. You can have for example the Carlists ruling Spain at the start of the game for example. I will also allow for fictional characters and such. Just don't go too far in left field. If you and another player have an idea for a collaboration tell me about it and I'll tell you how I feel about it.

What?

Err... how about Korea?

What what?

You can have Korea if you want it.

I wanted Austria, but modernising the Hermit Kingdom would be a fun experience.

Well it's clearly stated in the rules I have the right I tell you to pick another, but because I like to be a nice guy I will explain.

I do believe those countries are too powerful to hand out to just anybody.

Please give a reason why.

As a third party, I imagine the reason that he doesn't want to give you one of the three strongest powers at start is because of your tendency to allow your emotions to rule over your in-game actions, combined with your tendency to start long-winded and pointless arguments over nothing.

I don't mean to be rude, of course, but your history in previous games (like IOTXIV and your several page-long arguments with Mathalamus, and your frequent dropping out and dropping in whenever your situation turnes to the worst) would point towards placing you at the head of one of the big three as a bad idea.

Then whom will be handed these countries then?

If this is the reason then it is one of... a problematic interpolation of my entire IOT experience.

Emotion? So you not take enjoyment in games then? Please define "run by your emotions.”

Pointless arguments very in what can be determined as pointless, although I do not confess I have taken account that social groups for long diplomacy has its... benefits.

Long winded? If this is about IOTXIV then it is picking on one thing. If not then please give examples that is proper.

IOTXIV is not to be a good case to use; one scenario, not my whole history, cause by specific occurrence; beginning with avoiding turn 1 war, a desire to try out the rebellion and leaving due to boredom max with other reasons but I will not give a lecture here. It takes two to dance and I do admit I should not have fed Math's… considerations. I do not confess I did talk a lot then but I was given responses.

If Mosher’s argument is Tyo’s… then I will protest against the decision on grounds that it is… of selective memory and foregone the purity of notions.

…in fact I would have a suggestion; for Iron and Blood 4 Tails set all players to have a roll to determine their strength and claims. Perhaps all who want to play the big powers should be placed on some kind of lottery to determine whether they get their wish or not. That would be more… rational and less judgemental.

...and if Mosher calls this post a example in "long wind" then it only proves the... unrational conduct of such judgement.

.

I'm only going to address these two points because anything else is going to lead to a long srgument and typing with a broken finger is painful.

You tend to make decisions based purely on emotions resulting from perceived insults rather than what is the rational course of action which tends to make your nation suffer.

And assigning players based on how skilled you feel they are is perfectly sound for a game with set powers like this. I&B4 was fresh start, this is not.

Your post is why. You get too emotionally attached to the game and take things too personally, resulting in static decisions. I want to give the helm to people I know or at least have strong inclination to believe to be suitable for the job. For example, Sonereal has a history of making United States or countries similar very interesting and they more often than not contribute heavily to the game world. Therefore he is pretty much the perfect USA player in my eyes.

Case-end-point I want people I can trust to be the most decisive factors in making the game world interesting. I'm not even saying I have to like the playstyle. For example, I don't appreciate Christos' belligerence all the time but I would trust him to make the game interesting as a relatively powerful nation. But from my observations, you are not a suitable candidate for the initial great powers.

Let's not continue this discussion. My mind won't be changed. You are welcome to join as something else.

The Great Qing China shall help you.

Daoguang Emperor

He was born in the Forbidden City, Beijing, and was given the name Mianning (Mien-ning; Chinese: 綿寧). It was later changed into Minning (Min-ning; Chinese: 旻寧; Manchu: ᠮᡳᠨ ᠨᡳᠩ Min ning) when he became emperor: the first character of his private name was changed from Mian (Mien; 綿) to Min (旻) so as to avoid the relatively common character 'Mian'. This novelty was introduced by his grandfather the Qianlong Emperor who thought it inappropriate to use a common character in the emperor's private name due to the long-standing practice of naming taboo.

He was the second son of Yongyan (永琰), who became the Jiaqing Emperor in 1796. His mother, the principal wife of Yongyan, was Lady Hitara of the (Manchu) Hitara clan, who became empress when Jiaqing ascended the throne in 1796. She is known posthumously as Empress Xiaoshurui (孝淑睿皇后).

Mianning was well liked by his grandfather the Qianlong Emperor and frequently accompanied the elderly emperor on hunting trips. On one such trip at the age of nine he successfully hunted a deer which greatly amused Qianlong. In 1813, while a prince, Mianning also played a vital role in repelling and killing White Lotus invaders who stormed the Forbidden City. This action earned Mianning important merits in securing his claim for the throne.

In September 1820, at the age of 38, Mianning inherited the throne after his father the Jiaqing Emperor suddenly died of unknown causes. Now known as the Daoguang Emperor, he inherited a declining empire with Westerners encroaching upon the borders of China. During his reign, China experienced major problems with opium, which was imported into China by British merchants. Opium had started to trickle into China during the reign of his great grandfather Emperor Yongzheng but was limited to approximately 200 chests annually. By the time of Emperor Qianlong's reign, this amount had increased to 1000 chests, 4000 chests by Jiaqing's era and more than 30,000 chests during Daoguang's reign.

In the last decade, he has issued many edicts against opium, which are carried out by Commissioner Lin Zexu.

Speech by Lowell, Jr. in Boston.
“Freedom! What does that mean, I ask of you? It is the grand question of our day, yet none can truly answer it! Does freedom mean the liberty to deny another man his freedom? Does it mean the freedom to tie a man to a post and whip him to within an inch of his life, when he has committed no crime? If you look to the South, to the home of the Jacksonians of our beautiful country, they would say aye! If the Southern planters... nay, let us call them what they are. If the southern aristocrats had their way, then they would put chains on anyone for the sake of making a profit, God and care for their common man aside! They oppress our gorgeous homeland, here in New England, by abusing the 3/5 rule in our own Constitution, to make the South more dominant than it has any right to be in Congress! The South led us to ruin in the disastrous Second American Revolution! It is clear that the Jacksonians in this country will only lead beautiful New England to ruin and it is thus my call to you, New Englanders – do not give in! Do not allow the voice of abolition to be quieted! All men were born equal, and it is the right of no man to take that away!
