IOT: Revolutions Per Minute[Sign-Ups and OOC]

I would like a review on the requirements needed to play as Russia.

Spoiler a self admitted rant :
@the GM: Your "your too emotional attached" argument is... amusing to say the least.

To say I am "not a suitable canidate" is quite amusing and seems to be overly focused on IOTXIV then, say, NRIOT which only got out of hand due to me suffering from a bandwagon problem others suffered in that game... I congrat WIM for his stance as Rome in that game.

My post, while long yes, was only questioning Mosher Tyo. I guess I should have... shorten the words but I tend to write more per my course. You say you "do not have to like the playstyle," yet here you are making a judgement of a playstle.

I admit: I have not focused on one point of nation as much as other, the nearest being the SUDS (including its spiritual cousin) but that is a odd ball in itself.

I will forgive if Thor and RC are chosen for Britain over me (although RC has already expressed interest in another power), although that would make the... "first-come first-served basis." Nor have you asked me of my experience with Russia or Britain (acedemic and otherwise) in consideration. Nor have I been given a proper scale of what you define "skills" other than "I do not like Ailedhoo."

We must debate this. What ever the case I have no plot to invade everyone as Russia or not take account of scale; I am eager to try Russia, especilly in reguards to the possible alterative history when I get around to Alexander II. I am willing to make a case for why I wanted to play as Russia.

However I am willing to co-operate with another player; certain represenative goverments (like Britain) could have a sharing by political parties players play as. This would make... RP more interesting and I will love to co-operate with Thor or others. This would allow the Whigs and Tories to give different determining of character per Prime Ministeral reign and allow better co-operation in evolving Britain. Hence...

4) either the Tories or Whigs in Britain; my power will depend on the judgement of my policies, hence a competion of interests.
5)I am however checking other alteratives; just for consideration...

I am not discussing this. If you don't like my rules, you can leave. If you accept my ruling than choose something else. End of discussion.

No Tyo: it is up to discussion.

The GM can set and enforce specific standards regarding nations and IC play, but those standards should be fully explained in the games rules section where everyone can read them. All players must held to the same standards.

While a player must respect the rules of the game, both mechanical and in terms of etiquette, the GM must hold not to derailment through "your not qualified" arguments. All players must be held to the same standards and the first come serve rule does not compute with your ruling.

To make things easy: I will like to either play Britain or Russia.

He specifically states he reserves the right to disbar someone from a country if he wants. That rule applies to anyone, and thus he is holding eveyone to that same standard. He doesn't feel like you meet that standard to join the game as Russia and Britain, and has provided justification for that. His game, his rules.

So in other words I am not held in the same standards as other players?

...ok I can see where this word lawyering is going...

What standards do you feel like you aren't being held to? I'm trying to treat everyone fairly here. If someone else tried to nab a country I don't feel comfortable with them having, I'd be doing the same thing. My rules clearly state:
On a first-come first-served basis, select your country. However, I have the right to tell you to pick another country.

How people function isn't quantifiable. I can't give requirements for the positions of great power.

I don't see the problem with you simply picking something else.

So in other words I am not held in the same standards as other players?

Not meeting something is not the same as being discriminated against. You are being held to the same standard as everybody, but you do not met that standard. If you seriously want to see some things I consider:

Diplomatic success in other IOTs
Quality of role play I've read
Capacity to make an interesting game
Experience as a GM
and other stuff like that.

Ailed, Tyo clearly outlined the rules. He feels that you aren't quite suited to play such a superpower as Russia, no more, no less. Hell, I don't even feel qualified enough to play as Russia, and I've been here longer. He's not going to budge, no matter what you say.

I would question you Tyo...

...thankfully though I have a solution to this; would the dominant power in Japan be off limits? If I am not allowed to play as a great power then I will make one!

FYI, Brazil will be a Prussian Constitutionalism here, not a HM's Government like in Vic2 (I'm not entirely sure what happened IRL after Pedro I abdicated in 1831 and the regencies took over, but at the time of his abdication, Brazil was definitely a Prussian Constitutionalist government)

Eh, I'll give this a go. Prefs in order;

1. Britain
2. Prussia
3. Belgium

Moderator Action: Tyo is correct in his position on this matter and I am please that you all have worked out a solution. Play on!

Gonna assign you Austria.

Fair enough, if you don't mind me asking, any particular reasons as to why you gave me Austria?

Also can I ask, Who is playing as Prussia and Who is Russia.

I'll switch to Russia, considering no one else looks like they want it.

chose? chose=thing

Chose is French for "plug in gap in sentence here".

All first picks starting from my last post are granted.

Ola people, so thinking of a return.
However I'm verily busy, so I was thinking something medium and I'm thinking Sardinia-Piedmont if that is oke witn Tyo
