Malacca was outraged. Every man, every woman, even every child wished death to the Sultan. He knew that he had put himself into a precarious condition. The Peking Kingdom from the north somehow felt that it had a right to India. Naturally, the Sultan found this claim outrageous. They had plenty of land to the west in the steppes of Central Asia, and
that was open for the taking.
However, after bouts of tense negotiation, the Sultan was forced to concede. Malacca could not support a war right now, and with the Kingdom of the Dragon pledging to assist Peking in the war, the last thing needed was an attack by TWO nations. Despite this peace, the Sultan still
ordered all troops to be moved to the norther border provinces, for defense.
The Sultan has suspicions, though. To assuage these, he also increased the size of the army, by spending
8 MP on 4 armies. With this buildup, Malacca would have the largest army in the war, more than enough to ward off any would-be Chinese conqueror.
Though this crisis was the prominent event of the era, other developments continued. Ships still improved, and traders were pursuing their goal of sailing the markets of East Africa without interruption.
