Iran Iraq War Mod+Scenario

and its much appreciated!

i would really like to play the mod! its one of my most wanted mods i wanna try,

but between league of legends and my own stinking mod who has the time??


keep up the good work my friend! even if u have one person who plays you r mod!

hey man - u have to create a pak file bro. it will make the mod load faster.
also u have some red dots instead of units, some pink missing arts for a building or two - go through the pedia :)
 
This is odd, SVN version gives me dreaded "you are defeated" message... Do you always try to leave the latest SVN workable?

Yes! First mod I ever play with Helicopters able go into Coast. It felt almost sureal to see my copter hovering above the water :goodjob: Why isn't this a standard feature in BTS? If modders can do this, why can't Fraxis?

US starting units could use few Cobras. I mean they have ships capable to carry Helicopters but no Helicopters on them :confused:

There is still an issue with regular transports. That Navy Seal unit cannot load to any ship! American replacement for transport is as useless as the transport itself right now -- nothing can be loaded in those ships.

What's up with those Heritage Sites again? Workers cannot improve them currently.

Can I please retouch Soviet cities for you? It hurts to see them the way they are! Soviets in Moscow would go insane to see late era Turkmenbashi on the map. After independence in 1991 new Turkmenistan leader renamed the town of Krasnovodsk "Turkmenbashi" after himself, and renamed schools, airports and even a meteorite after himself and members of his family :crazyeye:. But during this time this dude was simply a party official becoming First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Turkmen SSR in 1985.

OK, I'll put those things on my todo list. Heritage sites should be improvable. The unimprovable ones have rocks around them.

Yeah, if there are some fixes/improvements I haven't done yet, I'd be happy to incorporate your fix into the svn or a release. Just post them here. I have so much to do unfortunately.
 
That's sad... I would really love to playtest this with you. You can be Saddam if you want :mischief:

Can we please replace Egyptian Bir Taba with Jewish Eilat? Israel has only 1 port in Red Sea, it may make things interesting there...

Hi guys this is my first post here. I have always been fascinated with the iran iraq war but I have been unable to find much in the way of documentaries on the war. I was so surprised when I bumped into this mod.. However it doesnt seem to load on my BTS. when I click the mod in the mod section in civ 4 the game closes but does not reopen like it does with the other mods.

I would love if i can be assisted with this.
 
Hmm. I'm going to have to think about a solution for you. Try double clicking on the worldbuilder file in the mods folder and see if that works.

I have also not seen many documentaries on the war. I think there was one though from the BBC that was interesting.

The mod loads after I reinstalled BTS, however I cant seem to find the scenario. I placed the world builder file in PublicMaps folder located in program files as well as in My Games but it is still not showing up.

There was this documentary that highlighted the war very well, dont remember if it is bbc. I can speak moderate persian so very interested in the culture.

I got it working!! great mod, I have some suggestions though:

I think you should rename the "gendamerie" unit as "Basij". Basij is the irregular militia used by the Iranians in the war. The regular army is "Artesh".
 
Good suggestions. The iranian army actually did have a garrison. I stayed away from the more controversial Basiji.

Glad to hear you got it working.

THis mod will get more improvments soon.

Why controversial? I know there are alot of bad press in the media about the Basiji but they are 15 million strong, thats 1/5th of the Iranian population... Cant be the "ruthless and feared group" when a large segment of the male population is Basiji...

I also seem unable to sign a right of passage or open borde agreement with shah masoud, would really love to supply him with weaponry for use against the soviets.


Edit: Just found out i needed an embassy first, great mod :)
 
Played Egypt. Got rights of passage from Turkey, sent my oil ship to them. Tried to get into city, couldn't.

Is it a bug or maybe I didn't understood something ?



P.S. I had not played this mod for a long time and it's really nice to see it's grown with so many new features :)
