Iron Curtain PBEM?

Ok, so, time of death Jun 14, 2003 09:44 AM?

First Ever Soviet Elections!
The first ever elections were held this month in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, with Soviet Chairman Emu winning 74% of the votes and returning to power more popular than ever before. His opponent Leonid Brezhnev put up a good campaign but the chairman's soaring popularity and liberal ideals put him ahead with the people.

Warnings to NATO and the USA - Stay Out!
Following the elections in early March, the Soviet chairman sent a warning to the Americans and their NATO allies. The United States is to withdraw its satellites from Sweden and its aircraft from the bases in Turkey as agreed upon or the Warsaw Pact wil remove these itself. NATO's forces have been found in the neutral zone in Yugoslavia destroying roads. The USSR assumes that this was merely an accident so we warn NATO to respect this little neutral zone. The United States is also warned to be careful in its meddling in Latin America. The Soviet Union will not tolerate further annexation of Mexican territory into the United States, as Cuban recon aircraft have shown American troops in the Mexican provinces of Chihuahua, Sonora and Coahuila. You may annex these provinces into American states, but the rest of Mexico must remain independent.

That's all the news I could come up with, sorry for the delay. I have a lot of work ahead of me in this acceleration course. They really do pack one year into one month!

BUMP!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
After analyzing the results of a soviet and a NATO/USA first strike in different tests, i came to the conclusion that we must do something to prevent these "unrealistic results" of nuclear warfare.
I mean, it´s obvious that in a turn-based game (and in the case of a nuclear war) we face the problem of "the one who strikes first wins / has a considerable advantage"
Because, if you are able to destroy between 90-100% of the nuclear forces of your enemy, you can prevent a nuclear counterattack. AND THAT´S WHAT HAPPENED HERE

Some of you may remember my original idea of the "ICBM Regeneration"
The command is simple.
Example:
If "USA ICBM" destroyed by "ANYBODY"
THEN Create "USA ICBM" in "a specific location" (i´ll give you 5 or 6 possibilities)

So, in case of a soviet attack, all the ICBMs destroyed by the soviets, will "magically" appear again in the american soil.
In other words, the construction of the missile implies its use.

Why should we use this?
Because in real life, the nuclear responce would happen while the emeny nukes were in the air.
That´s because the player that suffered the attack, MUST HAVE A CHANCE TO RESPOND!!!!!

These were the options i proposed some months ago:
"Civ2 turn based game style" (no possibility of "nukes in the air") VS. "Real life situation" (MAD)

That time, we chose to go on with the current situation, with the same rules...
Time went on... i personally believe that we should test the other idea.
Remember this guys:
Nuclear responce would happen while the emeny nukes were in the air
MAD was a real possibility. We should recreate that in a cold war game
Benefit for a first strike (nukes+conventional warfare), but also a retaliation. THIS IS NUCLEAR WARFARE!!! Remember, no winners in a nuclear war

NO WINNERS IN A NUCLEAR WAR!!!!!!
Nuclear War shouldn´t be the first option, but the last one. Ok?
Players should understand the implication of using their nuclear arsenals ;) This time it won´t be so easy, so simple.... EVERYBODY MUST SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF A NUCLEAR WAR!!!

One more thing:
Sorry guys, but i´m not asking for your opinion this time.
We´re going to do it. ok? I really wanna test it and i need your help.

Please, EVERYBODY MUST DOWNLOAD THIS FILE:

my turn...didn't do much

BUMP!

Bump the Insane Badger.

I haven't seen him around in a while, has anyone talked to him?

If he has disappeared then I say this one is dead.

The pace has been agonizingly slow.........:(

I've seen himn and I reminded him that it is his turn. He's downloaded the file, he just has to post it.

Insane Badger, your zip file was empty!

Somehow you didn't zip a file.

Please post the file. If you cant zip it then use the upload function.

Thanks!

Yep, as a matter of fact after I play this turn, Im going to resign from this PBEM. I have too many going right now and I really think we should end this one and use the bodies who want to play to fill the vacancies in the Iron Curtain PBEM's that are a little farther along.

Sorry I usually dont do this but I just dont have time right now in my RL for three Iron Curtain PBEM's.
