Is Bush too Fit?

From the now on, US presidents will be decided following an arm wrestling competition ;)

You've misunderstood Stapel's post.

He wasn't comparing the influences of countries, Stapel was comparing Institutions. It's true that France and the US are presidential republic where the head of state leads the government. On the other side, the heads of state in most parliamentary democracies such as Germany, Britain or Italy doesn't have any influence. Their job is mainly representative.

And by the way, Stapel is right when he says it makes a big difference. The leader of the government in France and in the US don't simply lead the country, he also represents it. As a consequence, the function is more respected in France and the US than it would in most parliamentary democracies. I think this is unfortunately true.

Oh, thank you for correcting me!
Stupid me

Lets test him for steroids like we do with baseball players.

Maybe all that energy that is being wasted when it should be used for thinking and other brain activities is sent to his muscles.
Incidently, why havent the USA had a obese pres yet? a third of the population is a pig, surely they would like to see some fat dude in the oval office.

Thansk for clearing that up :) !

I think a lot of Californians like Arnold. A lot of CAs are also starting to realize that he's incompetent and venal, a frontman for the same interests that have been using CA as their sandbox for decades. But hey, we she-uuuure did top those silly Minnesota people. Ventura? HAH!

Bush should double his excerise. The less time he spends running the country, the less he screws it up.
And the more time his people spend running it. Kind of a wash, I think. But, if you can get 20% of your time off, I'll sign up for that job! Come on....Yankee for President!

Hmm... a Yankee, huh? I think you need an inexperienced, policy-devoid, unknown running mate who has no selling points except the purported ability to win over a few red states with his cartoonishly Southern twang.

;)

Or I can recruit John Edwards to look better and younger than I do (and I'm only 20!).

But I promise to have at least three massive heart attacks per term if elected, plus a cholesterol count of 473!

My special interest groups will include Domino's, Dunkin' Donuts, and the royal couple of Burger King and Dairy Queen!

President Bush has visited (just) Crawford over 50 times in five years. By the Iraq invasion, he'd spent more time total on vacation than Clinton did in two terms. He hasn't exactly gotten more serious about his job since then. He has spent the most time on vacation of any President in the postwar era.
Not the vacations - I meant the charge that, by exercising, he wasn't doing enough for our country. :crazyeye:

I can promise to very slothily invade others, that should work! :p

I really don't care that Bush spends some time of the day exercising. I don't remember people complaining about other presidents doing it, though they probably were not as religiously devoted to the regimen that Bush is. The greater concern is all the "vacation" time he spends. Especially since there were questions about how productive he was during a certain August vacation in 2001.

I don't think anyone's making that charge! Maybe the guy who said it misinterpreted what the President's critics were saying.

Jogging is good. Although I seem to remember that when Clinton went out in shorts it was "demeaning the stature of the Oval Office" or some such bs :)
