The limits on free speech historically pursued by corporate America and companies and private institutions are hardly liberal political correctness, they come from all sorts of ideas of correct looks and speech and the like that are very socially conservative, unless not being able to swear like a drunken sailor at work or bring up periods or abortions is suddenly a liberal thing.

The difference is that companies enforce dress codes on their own property, they aren't whining that they find tattoos incredibly offensive so their dress codes really ought to be enforced in public areas also.
