IS

come play with guys who can hit back , instead of creating proxies that will get the first and only punch for you . It would be over like a breeze and you will feel good about it .

or how am ı tempted to rant on how the former friends of the New Turkey now accuse the New Turkey of doing this and doing that .

The place is a mess and needs fixing, there is no room for jerks who destroy archeological sites, harass women and children, forbid basic civil liberties and flood markets black markets like the antiquities black market and the oil and gas black market to finance their war. I don't care who created them, but they have no right to govern those regions as they took control by force and not a popular mandate. Yes, the US needs fixing too, but we are by far and away better off. I am willing to bet that folks in IS controlled areas are not allowed to play CiV since it has Christian and Jewish symbols in the game.

If you create anarchy and traumatize a generation of people, you get guys like those in ISIS. If you think the West can now solve the problem it created by just dropping bombs and playing desert whack-a-mole for a few years, you're going to be in for a shock.

I do not think the West can solve the problem without the the Middle East taking the initiative. It's their house that is out of order, it's not our house. The United Nations should provide the support. And why just the West? Why not the East and the West? Why are China and others exempt from this?

The West can solve the problem the same way a local housebreaker can solve his area's burglary problems.

With the major exception of the evil, black sheep, Iran, the Middle East is our house, it has no agency nor any prospects of achieving it. Its rulers are, for the most part, our clients, dictators and ruling families whose raison d'etre is to stiff their own people out of oil money for the benefits of the West's ruling elite. It has strong leadership where 'we' support it, anarchy where 'we' create it.

I wouldn't look for a reasonable discussion in this thread.

just being familiar with the guys and living in the area . Can't react in the time honoured way , though . "You hate Kurds because they are Kurds." line doesn't work much if the target audience seems ready to be amazed to learn Kurds for Turks last far better in the field of fire compared to Kurds for America .

it's back . This computer worm that used to eat 700MB of disc space every 10 minutes . ı have no idea what triggered it again . Though ı have the impression that people whom ı would expect to know already know , as it would seem it was happening on Friday . Last November it was such a blast with me keeping a log of losses by the hour . My last record with regards to suspicions of it was December 18th last year . Was an idiot then , am an idiot now , will be an idiot in the future . That hasn't changed , nor there is any kind of change in people who keep an eye on me . Hence in the last 12 months or so , ı have suffered a stupid TV series , a recruitment attempt of sorts based on the jealousy aspect , with one of those Anglosaxon intelligence services harping on the fact that the likes of Lady Vader were sooooooo hawt back in their day , but am still like totally a 40 year old virgin , frying in orbits around stars and freezing on some forsaken bases beyond the Oort Belt . There was the obligatory scary move , where ı got to discover my DNA was in the hands of people of mutual "dislike" ; that's a step up on the notion that they know where you live . Besides the ever present "observation" . ı walk home for sport , it takes about an hour , ı need a cadence of sorts , 'cause the body says "Stop." and the mind says "Never!" and that's how and why the body keeps on , keeps the pace , ı sing (to myself , of course) this Azeri folk song and some guy overhears it and ten minutes down the road ı hear two girls discussing it . Damn the cellphones ...

not even the current "crisis" requires it . Have been saying this all along : The establishment of a Kurdish state is the true design of the Greater Middle East Initiative of which Dabya aka Bush II and the then Turkish Prime Minister were co-presidents . So that the A-K-P cadres would work even harder on the destruction of the country , with all sorts of help from the other parties on the Turkish political scenery . ı can't understand the "alarm" the New Turkey has about the fall of the Syrian territory along the border to the seperatists who now reportedly control 70% of the border . Not even the recent massacres of some 200 people in Ayn el Arap , where Kurds wearing seperatist gear but fighting for ISIL killed Kurds , mostly civilians and Turkey gets to be blamed as the routine , as a matter of course . Leads to a newspaper report straight from the chief of goverment generals , who says the Army will go and no soldier will shirk from duty . His American handlers routinely ignore mentioning this but it's a seriously nice thing that there are still stuff untarnished by the Syrian debacle , things still unblemished by eternal disgrace . It's entirely in deference to Human Rights that flats for the goverment generals , one for each , some 340 odd are arranged in Hong Kong , instead of -say- Dubai . Now that in the kind of places like the latter , all those glorious over-achievers might actually be raped by their pals . In the physical sense . What happens when our sunnier Sunni brothers discover that there is a deviance from their Uncle Sam approved plans is easy to learn , let the chief of goverment generals ask his airforce commander of the time when the Kuwaiti Military Attachee had his right to beat up the son-in-law of his airforce commander in Ankara , in broad daylight . Those who invoked a new fangled Martyrs Day and a Veterans Day and so many Days (ı haven't even heard of) to avoid the commeration of August 30th , those who kept their silence when the Turkish flag was just this close to be outlawed do not get to remove the

Ho Ho Ho Hell No
We Won't Go

line . While it's indeed true that the Capital Letters made their reputation with making Americans squirm and the whole world loves the spectacle now that Americans are so boastful when bragging about the flexibility the sad truth is the likes of Pentagon and stuff are so fixated about the plans they have hatched . Turkey , in its every fiber of existance , must be implicated in wholesale support of Jihadist extremism so that the world will stomach what will gleefully be done in assistance to the Kurds who like totally deserve their own nation state built on hills of skulls of their lessers . If we don't roll into Syria , America can not suddenly discover we are supporting the beheading sons of heart-eaters . To stop the Righteous March of the Kurds to the Sea , among other things . Considering that the endemic spineless of Barack Hussein has already "negated" a whole set of previous "facts on the ground" to a mere "Been there, saw this, done that" , "normal" , "routine" ... Failing this 98756446432219th attempt to get us to invade , will America do the right thing and have Colin Powell in the UN , with the chilling revelation that the US Goverment has unrefutable intel that we Turks are building the Death Star ? Of course , no . You ain't seen Obsession , if you ain't seen them Americans . And yeah , it will be in a trailer park , too !

nor it can be related to the latest spectacle where Yezidi refugees have been led to believe if they number some 5000 , the Bulgarians will let them the crash the borders and let them in . So that this coming Civil War in Turkey will not get them Yezidis first . Crusader conspiracy or what ? Jolie here at the camps , neat as the tradition and they all rumble to Edirne to escape Turkish hospitality ! After the US Embassy quitely rudely minded that the Turkish journalists were not in a position to ask 30-40 million dollars from her for a good cause or something after the last time she was here , it's amazing to see nobody is talking on her houte couture . Otherwise it's always some conspiracy where the smarties smartily discover the plot , do not expect them to believe that she was forcefully trivial before "finding herself" so that she is passionately into doing something good .

maybe post election troubles ? As repeated like a million times , am not anything but the worm must be for some reason , like finding the e-mail adress of some Capital Letter ? So that it can be reasoned with the unreasonable , so that the inevitable next elections can be won , with the tacid understanding the previous methods do not work ? You know , there was this huge blackout in the spring ; and Americans were not exactly shy of claiming ownership of it , scaring the Party of hell to come . And all the preparations were already in place , the Turkish laws say anybody caught in vote stealing can not be employed in vote counting business for 2 or 3 years ; it was amended to 6 months this year so that the entire crew could be in . This kind of restrictions make it a requirement that there has to be a huge success of something and invasion of 90 kilometers of the border can be one . Will stop the Kurdish March to the Sea , will fulfill the notion of stopping the establishment of 'stan , will give half of the Nationalist vote , push the almost racist party out of the Parliament , secure the rule of A-K-P until not 2023 but 2203 . The Military is even arguing that the area can be controlled with the 40 km reach of howitzer fire , there is no need for boots on the ground across the border . They have to protect the area from terrorists ; like ISIL . Which actually controls the area right now , but don't mention this since all Turks are gullible idiots and believe the good will of anybody who claims to have a good will . In case this is not enough , we also hear the evil Kurds have captured all the borders and cut of the fuel supply , so ISIL which has the oilfields of Syria and made millions of dollars smuggling diesel fuel to Turkey now can not buy diesel fuel from Turkey and people will be parched , from thirst for water with lack of power to draw from wells . Humanitarian grounds , man , don't we fear Allah ? Though just to be fair , it's also possible the airstrikes can be hurting if there's a will for them to do so at that moment .

the female population of the ISIL territory seemingly also suffers . Some French youth , rushing to Syria in the euphoria of the initial ISIL conquests , returns home like heart broken . Married to some young Jihadi who had too much slaves and the like in the first place , so that he would openly fantesize for a new Kalashnikov , she has discovered what is marketed as the true path of Islam sees women as property of men , in the sense "really" . Back in the glorious days of the Arab Spring , where the Western Media was in the game to portray the events as a magnificient defiance of Human spirit against tyranny , it was possible to see hunk threads of Jihadists . Handsome beardies with RPGs and AK-47s doing battle with the inhuman masses of dictators' goons and oppressors . That's the reason why every third player in European "soccer" leagues has the beard these days . It reasons , too . The girls in the East do not "hear" much about "interaction" by tradition and family values , while a girl raised in the West would be like contaminated by the things the natives reportedly do to their boyfriends . Compared to Easterners as lumps of meat , it would be lively in the sack , ensuring the loyalty of the "warfighters" . ı would use rather different terms to describe the ISIL members , but what's the point of getting infracted for homophobic commentary ?

it's just incredible to see the lack of claims of queerness of this poster , as well ! On the other hand it seems there's even widespread information on the thing that a 10 000£ a night internet sensation , some Page 3 girl from the UK is not my wife . Guess what , you could have learned that from her Wikipedia page . Anything there related to a Starfleet Admiral ?

so what's the deal ? What's the reason for a repeat performance of the thing that got me ranting like hell back in November ? It's like 2009 where ı pointed out the obvious thing that if ı was halfway real ı would keep anything ı downloaded from the www. out of the computer/computers that would have counted . Now that ı could have 100 different kinds of Stuxnet in a single day if ı was real or ı was protected , kinda legally making me a target ... This is something that keeps the likes of serious people out of my computer so that ı can read stuff and play games , do things people do and spend my pointless-anyhow life . But ı keep forgetting that you are smarter than the CIA . What's different than the last 10 years ?

oh , maybe the reports with the construction company that had renovated the building where ı was once a museum guide ? In the countrywide news that they have a contract to repair this 500 years old compound and they have torn down a 500 years old wall , to allow trucks inside the garden ? Is this the new thing ? With the smiling newsanchor , who now thinks they are proving that they are now reaching out to people ? If so , ı would hazard to suggest the audience should not with a Capital Letter who wouldn't have the means to direct Party Media . Considering that construction company has a specially named branch for lucrative renovation / restoration business in Bursa the audience should rather be with the mayor of Bursa , who is a pal of the PM . Who is in another of building frenzies with his palace , this time intent to get Kemal's house in the former agricultural center so that it be used to welcome VIP guests . Some newspaper has the Google Earth picture of the area and Kemal's building is almost the size of a doghouse compared to 1150 room palace or the 250 room baby palace ... It could actually be insulting to VIPs to offer such in contrast to opulance around but the PM seems to be so engrossed in the p_ssing contest he is in with the Arab kings . Must be the reason why the Moroccan King came with 5 plane loads of personal gear and stuff when invited last year for a vacation in some formerly Ottoman palace in Istanbul .

with all the rant aside let's check what Guy 3 has been saying since the last time on this thread . ı think he has somesort of inside info inside the Iraqi Goverment . Or for readers of the Arabic , there are seriously detailed forums about the inner workings of Baghdad . Now the context is the F-16IQ , which is a dumbed down variant of the current version on sale , the Block 50/52s . As you certainly can imagine from the moniker IQ . While this post might well turn into a rant on the "Defence" business F-16 ran for years without changes to the letters , until the UAE's oil money justified the use of E for single seaters and F for twin tubs . USAF had been so tempted to get G and J for the later Blocks that specialized on Night Attack and SEAD , Israel naturally got F-16I types and the Indians were offered the "Block 70" as the IN , which they refused in a hurry but whatever . Only natural for the Iraqis to be offered the IQ from IraQ , which naturally turns into an insult . This is the "weakest" type on sale , or even "flying" , maybe apart from the A based Jordanians or the Venezuellans . The last has been cut of support for like 20 years anyhow , they are only good for selling to Iran to be reverse-engineered ... A little more on the deficiencies of IQ later but no good contract comes without support clauses :

Spoiler :

as we can see the "$1Bn for infrastructure and the lifecycle support for US contractors" actually translated to....

-reusing Iraqi [Hardened Aircraft Shelters] that the Yugoslavs built in the 1980s and just painting them and adding some cheap metal gates (as opposed to the heavy blast proof steel doors that the shelters had originally...
-Reusing the old [Air Traffic Control] tower.... (maybe fit a few computers and terminals and some backup power).
-reusing the existing runways and taxiways... (oh a spot of low cost resurfacing, but the base concrete remains the same).

Sure they probably added a few bits of maintenance tools and diagnostic tools, fueling and arming bits...

Yours for a cool $1Bn. Most of the money naturally went on making sure that the americans are kept in with imported Texas Burgers, burritos, security guards at $10,000 per day, monthly first class R&R to Dubai etc... actual "stuff" the Iraqis got is probably about $70M worth.

am not the one to challenge the 70 million $ thing ; though only to be fair it seems the Iraqis seem to be witholding a substantial part of the payments . And ı love the cheap gate thing , that "some rolling metal shutters from a DIY store." Perfect for a Sunni extremist to drive a Toyota through , even if the originals were possibly destroyed in/since the Desert Storm ... Gets a retort , fully acceptable by the general understanding now current .

Spoiler :
Seriously.... You complaints about the F-16IQ deal disregard the fact that: The Iraqi air force training, support, and logistics infrastructure needs to be rebuilt from scratch. What you don't see in the deal is that A LOT of what the the US/IQAF is trying to avoid is a repeat of previous errors. Training and maintenance take time and money. Sure, buy from Russia or China. They will gladly sell hardware at low prices, up front. What does that leave you with? Billions of dollars in hardware without the experienced pilots, maintainers, spares, are worthless. The experience with the Iraqi M1's is instructive, one of the safest and advanced tanks has been largely useless in service due to poor training, motivation, and lack of maintenance (the M1 is a maintenance hog, probably not the best choice for a military trying to get it's feet underneath it).

Dozens of Mig-29's, [Chinese] FC-1's, Mi-28's, or whatever may look like a good deal, but the training and support are the key piece needed to make them effective. You can argue about the lack of cutting edge weapons being made available, but there is no doubt the the US training and support for those F-16's will be top notch and make for a more effective deterrent than buying the best, or cheapest fighters in world but lacking what the US has offered. Perhaps those in charge of the Iraqi air force learned that lesson from the previous experience with Russian supplied training and support, and realized that building an effective air force is more than shiny new jets at low prices.

don't think that will make a dent on Guy 3 ...

Spoiler :
I think my complaints about the "US trained and equipped iraqi armed forces" are shown to be true day after day...

whilst 200 Old Type-69s and T72s seem to soldier on and operate quite effectively against ISIS (total "cost" post 2003 maybe $100M?)... the M1 abrams that they spent SEVERAL BILLIONS OF DOLLARS on have a pathetic 30 tank availability rate. Oh and the tanks are maintained by "US contractors" for HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS per annum so you can't even blame the "iraqi untermensch" on that low availability.

The F16s with the "vaunted" (and suitably expensive) training and "quality" here we are.. refuse to deliver, give us antique armaments, and the "crews" are crashing it despite being in training in the 'high quality american! not inferior russian!" training...

on a "bang for buck" there is simply no comparison. Except for a few items (like the KingAir 350 ISR planes) the US stuff by an large is simply too expensive with poor training and support at horrendous cost and very low availability. the abrams tanks break down with alarming regularity that they can't even extricate themselves often from sticky situations with ISIS... something that seems not to have befallen the "lowly" T72 as much.

let us compare that to "uncle vladya" who quietly take in and properly train Iraqi crews in a record time... who then fly thousands of combat missions before losing the first helicopter (to an advanced MANPAD, unavoidable), deliver weapons and munitions and "true turnaround" in capability in record time and at "reasonable" expense.

KORNET missiles... Iraqis order them, russians come to Iraq and train crews IN THE FIELD and then... bang... 120 VBIEDs destroyed by that one anti tank company in hamrin hills alone (the russian contractors were up in the hills with them). real transformation in capability at minimal time. Imagine Iraqis trying something like that with USA... there'd be 10x newspaper articles for every weapon delivered at 10x the cost and the "contractors" somehow will completely screw up the training and maintenance, take their checks and shout about the "dumb arabs" from afar.

quite hard to retort , apart from a no doubt correct declaration from the debating guy that he's not racist . Guy 3 nods and goes on

Spoiler :
For every Billion dollar spent. Russia will deliver 4x more "military capability" with capability stood up at a much faster pace than the US. and without the howling media/society storm about arming the enemy etc... for a country like Iraq that sadly doesn't have a "legal" printing press for US Dollars, it means that the only rational choice for us would be to buy russian.

Lets take another "interesting" example... like the Mi-28Ne helicopter vs the Ah-64D/E apache... It took the US three years to "deliberate" whether to approve sale of the helicopter to the Iraqis who had to "grovel and beg" to put in a DSCA request and then "grovel and beg" the congress not to block that request. for helicopters that the US wanted to ship to Iraq in 3-4 years time at a "lifecycle cost" of over $200M a piece... remember that?

Then uncle vladya turns up, takes in dozens of Iraqi pilots for training in Russia, as well as maintenance system setup in iraq... and within a year the Iraqis are flying the Mi28Ne in combat and blowing up ISIS... (oh and for less than 1/4 of the "price" of the Apaches that would still be "in a pipe dream" had the Iraqis fallen into the trap of "ponying up the lolly" like they did for the F16 DumbQ).

or the SU25s that the russians literally readied and shipped to Iraq WITHIN A WEEK of Mosul falling ... meanwhile the US were "withholding shipments of hellfire missiles" for Iraq's (then) "fleet" of 3 cessna caravans... hell the US were not even prepared to ship the F16s that Iraq paid for in 2011 [...] to an Iraqi Air Force base in SOUTHERN IRAQ in 2014! even though the planes were all ready and finished in the US. what does that tell us?

They've lost less than 40 MBTs in the last 2 years of which less than 20 were Abrams. Other losses were mainly HUMVEES (which were free and ready for replacement) and some M113s ((which were free and ready for replacement anyway) and pickups. They also lost one battery of heavy artillery (which were also free, and replaced at rather low cost).

that would be the battery lost in Telafer , which naturally decided the issue and provided the fall of the city , now that Iraqi Sunnis could surely provide a battery worth of artillerymen . Americans bombed the guns when they were turned on the Kurds , as if one ever needs to ask .
Spoiler :

Ah-64E went into competition with Mi28Ne and LOST.

AT-6C went into competition with SU-25 and LOST.

AVENGER went into competition with PANTSIR-S1 and LOST

BLACKHAWK went into competition with Mi-171Sh and LOST

HAWK-XXI went into competition with "something russian" and LOST

Unarmed export Predator Drone went into competition with CH-4B and LOST

An-TPS-117 Radar lost against Russian radar after the first 2 units supplied.

M1A1 Abrams tanks... 146 sold "during occupation" - subsequently the following 2 offers:
175x During 2012 - LOST
175x During 2014 - LOST

M2A2 Bradley IFV LOST COMPETITION against "we don't know what" .

C130J-30... was supposed to be for 9 aircraft.
6x Bought during occupation
3x Further units "not exercised"... Iraqis did show interest in Il76 upgrade which they deemed superior in every way... but so far no orders.

Iraq had an "initial requirement" for 90x F16s to be bought in batches of 18 units.
Batch 1x bought without competition during US occupation (2010).
Batch 2x Bought without competition during US occupation (2011).

What about the "remaining 3 batches" ? Iraqi policy changed after the US withdrawal and they made selection competitive... In fact they didn't even bother reaching "DSCA reporting stage" the US prices for "service and support were so ludicrous from the first 2 batches!

Batch 3x F16 (2012) "lost" - we don't know what it lost against.
Batch 4x F16 (2013) "lost" - we don;t know what it lost against.
Batch 5x F16 (not yet started - but unlikely to win - it seems that the F16-IQ has reached its "dead end" Iraqis will have to swallow the junk uncle sam lumbered them with during the occupation and cut their losses with simply not exercising the follow up orders)

Now surely the Iraqis are happy to accept any EDA stuff from the US... But simply the offers of weapons from the US are just unpalatable mostly. The Iraqis seem very happy with the King Air recon planes and they did buy more of those even after US withdrawal... also they liked the Hellfire armed Cessna Caravans and they kept paying the huge "service" fees as well as the inflated prices of thousands of hellfires because they do desperately need those. They of course agreed to take some EDA MRAPs... but when they spend their own money they bought Russian MRAPs (which are locally assembled now in Taji).

ı would guess EDA something to be like emergency defence aid while MRAP should be mine resistant trucks for carrying personnel . Which gets an counter-argument which should have sealed the thread . A list of absolute necessities to fight a 21st Century COIN campaign is made by a poster:

Spoiler :

Attack helicopters and gunships, a proper airlift capacity, big nasty bomb trucks with a self defence suite capable of fending off a MANAPD or tactical SAM that ISIS might capture from Assad's thugs and UCAVs. Fighters are a distant fifth priority and when it comes to fighters they'd be perfectly served with bog standard MiG-35s or F-16s but I'd still trust the Americans to sell them better aircraft and train the Iraqis better than the Russians ever will. Iraq is not going to war with Saudi Arabia, Jordan poses no threat, Iran has special forces helping them out and is flying air strikes in Iraq, Syria is in no fit state to invade them and they are in no fit state to invade Syria. Assuming they aren't dumb enough to p**s off the Israelis, that leaves who? The Kurds which (1) the US/EU will never let them attack (2) even if they do attack the Kurds they will never be able to take on the Peshmerga with state the Iraqi ground forces are in at the moment (3) if they ever get their ground forces trained up to the point that they can take on the Peshmerga they won't need MiG35s, F-16s or Rafales for that fight, just Attack helicopters & gunships, transports, big nasty bomb trucks and UCAVs.

oh , something we Sunnis do not get to hear in Sunni Turkey , don't know whether it's also so in other countries :
Spoiler :
Iraq already is buying all those things.

But we do need fighters and sams for self defence against Saudi Arabia so you cannot in two words dismiss that threat against iraq.

Sunni Arab politicians in the iraqi parliament have been openly calling for Saudi Arabia to "save the honourable Sunnis from the iranian invasion"... As they see the current situation. The majority of iraqs native populace is regarded simply as "iranian occupiers" and the propaganda war and the suicide bombing attack justifications fit within that narrative of fighting against foreign occupation (the foreigners being the majority of iraqs native populace, and the "resisters" being Somali/Tunisian/Saudi/Pakistan/chechen suicide bombers!) yes that is the narrative being propagated day and night on hundreds of Arab TV stations and social media.

Saudi is under pressure internally to "aid" the sunni Arab populace which is being attacked and invaded by the "shia iranian invaders"... They have flown into iraqi airspace at least once already. if the "tribal revolutionaries " lose more and more cities and the isis / tribal revolutionary population follows it's defeated "warriors of jihad" into Syria/kurdistan/turkey/Jordan what would the pressure on the gcc /Kingdom be like to "intervene to save the honourable Sunnis from extinction "? And not to mention stop the "advance of Iran to Saudis border " (as they refer to southern Iraqis).

Atheel nujaifi, former mayor of ninawa and brother of the iraqi vice president Osama nujaifi said that all they want is for Saudi Arabia to take the oilfields in basra as the "sunni Arabs rightful oil under the shias lands " and then declare the independence of the sunni Arab state! Yes indeed. The top sunni Arabs inside iraqs government are openly saying these things for years now.... An attack by Saudi Arabia on iraq is a very real and imminent threat. They have a formidable air force and for iraq to be able to deter them will need a capability that they have not invested in sadly....

The problem is... If the Iraqis have not bought the mig29m already 2-3 years ago they will not have enough time to induct them into service to be of any use in deterring the Saudis. Thus the only short term solution is to buy 2-3 S300 units from Russia and have some Russian assistants "advising " in their deployment. Deployed in nassiriya Najaf and Baghdad they would cover most iraqi space to the west and South.

defence business is big business . Involves lots of "These are not the droids you are looking for." effect . Take the latest issue of Air International . Back in 70s to early 90s that magazine had "immense" influence with the editors spending an effort to be true to what they believed to be true within a British context . When they said -say- the Tornado was a great aircraft , it was only because they took Tornado to be a great aircraft and not because Panavia would be buying 3 pages of ads for the year . After Lockmart took over the US scene and Pentagon came up with a glorious plan to outprice the entire European Combat aircraft industry (through the F-35) it had to change ; no way of integrity . And mind you am not even accusing the publishers and the like . Indeed the latest issue has a busload of cr_p . Half of the pages about civilian planes , airlines and ı don't even bother scrolling down to look at the pictures . The Military pages start with an article on the MiG-31 , which is capable of Mach 2.3 something and yours truly gives a "WHAT?!!!" If you read the small print it turns out this is the cruise speed which makes it the fastest military jet of these days and the maximum speed is still 2.83 . Don't worry , ı will have the oddest connection through what follows . Then page after page on the F-22 , with a load of cr_p heaped on Robert Gates who shut down the programme . There was a war in Iraq , Barack Hussein needed to wind it down and F-22s had nothing to offer to the fight in the alleyways of Baghdad . And of course Lockmart was selling the F-35 . These days , you don't hear anything from the fans of the F-35 which is nowhere near Iraq , while a F-22 pilot flew a 12 hour combat sortie during which he refuelled 7 times and did tons of stuff . Wait , it's coming right after the engine pages . It seems the US is just about to start a programme for fighter engines with a thrust rating of 45 000 pounds . Lots of people confused , for it would be too big for retrofit to F-22 and it doesn't look right in Pentagon's roadmap for the F-35 . Guess which country in the "West" has an heavy fighter "project" which can possibly be heavier than the F-22 ? Examplary , no mention of Su-27 and its offshoots which make immense airshow planes to begin with , limiting the alternative to a Russian machine which was so revolutionary a concept in the 1960s that the Russians could not afford to field it and had to make to do with a much simplified type , the MiG-25 . Makes a case for Lockmart , which is like Superman when it comes to designing planes , and we learn it's all Gates' fault and America makes excellent engines so it should be "in" . The imperialism in the New Turkey is rightaway disgusting and the Anglosphere is ready to give the tool to defend our acquisations to come . Right at the moment that they are writing tons of reports on the glorious F-22 which deters THK from accidentally bombing the Kurds , who will have their 'stans over the ashes of shot down Turkish planes no matter what . The you in this post is a different you and are you for real ? ı at least know am not real ...

hence so much fun at the latest attempt to steal the poor narrative of yours poorly . Or something . It turns out the Arabs were ready to massively fund the Turkish defence industry 3 times , America stopped the loan twice and once a Turkish Minister talked foolish things to anger Arabs who love us like totally . Dassault was ready turn over all the means of France for that kind of money , though the story suffer "a bit" from the revelation that the French emperor of the 70s was named General Albertville or something ! To sum up all this nonsense , let me say the Starfleet is completely happy with Incom and Sienar and if ı ever need the likes of MiG-31 , either company could provide a Firefox within the week and 200 by the month ...

and strangely enough the worm stopped on Sunday . No idea why , and let's hope it won't come back . Will keep an eye though .

yay , war on the air in aviation forums ! One single entry in one single blog mentions the F-35 has been finally gone air to air against an F-16 and the Lockmart troll brigades are back in mighty action . As a context , the F-16 is so outclassed in the air lately that it has been reported the cash strapped USAF has been considering to annul entire dogfight training for its Fighting Falcon pilots . Don't Viper me ; if it's Fighting Falcon when sold to us , it's Fighting Falcon for the US . And "unsurprisingly" it turns out the F-35 is a lumbering whale , without any of the grace of a whale . That's if you want to believe the blogger , who's widely reported to have an history of bias against the greatest plane evah ... The troll brigades imply the evil mastermind behind all these claims are McDonnell parasites who are suckin' blood out of Boeing right at this moment , in the same way that ruined Douglas . From their sincerity one can almost surmise it wasn't that company that made the likes of Phantoms , Eagles and sold Harriers to the country that made Harriers ... In their own turf , their own site . Otherwise , it's impressively "widespread" that there is a move in" Leftwing sites" to tarnish the reputation of the F-35 . Unaware of what that's supposed to be , many posters LOL the basic premise of "a leftwing site from a big time lefty hater [naming the blogger here] that got its info from RT" . The F-35 fanboys at work , after giving the English language such gems as Sukhoi fanboi . And oh-kay , whatever they say . But there is this unhealthy wish in some threads where the activity of the Lockmart troll brigades seems most impressive ; which can be catered for at like no risk to r16 ... My thing on the US owned F-35s is that the only fault with them happens to be the strenous efforts of Pentagon for the last 7 or so years to keep them out of places where they will receive real flak to end up upside down in some field . Oh no ; other companies will do "an" F-22T in 30% of the time at 55% of the fly-away cost to get an 15% improvement in performance over what Lockmart proposes now , before contract signature . That's indeed epic trolling , a candidate to top 2015 , short of WW III itself , but the thing is simply what in hell is the need for Tango ? Communist conspiracy, my backside ...

seems most unlikely in a country where the almost racist party is ready to form a coalition goverment with the Party for the utmostly required patriotic duty of saving the country from the political branch of the seperatists . It's just splendid PR that a mayor from the almost racists was on TV accusing the A-K-P corruption that has resulted in such a splendid example of money making . 45% of the pipes to complete the sever system for his town has never even arrived in the city and the laws still require that he should start a "plant" to clean the sewage that's not arriving from the pipes that don't exist . It's perhaps a sign that the guy , who like utterly failed in the '99 earthquake as a Goverment Minister but was extremely capable of surviving his own corruption scandals , was put forward as the deputy speaker of the parliament . Corruption is bad only when masses don't get their piece , right ?

that the MHP voter base needs to be convinced of the A-K-P desire to fight the seperatists that the THK has bombed the seperatists and not because of the post above . As soon as the money starts flowing , they will be all brothers no doubt , but ...

just like in the way the ISIL has been asking for military action (*) . Had it been Esad's troops who planted mines 30 meters from the border and dug up trenches as if 2.5m wide , 4m deep holes in the ground is much of a challenge these days , the THK would be like bombing them to bits in those much lauded rules of engagement . Don't worry for increased tasking for ISIL , out of one guy killing tourists in Tunus , they have raised enough political clout to start the campaign to teach a lesson to Taliban for getting so tired of Jihad , threaten Hamas and get into bloody fighting with the Egyptians so that they will get the most of recruits of Islamist extremism this day . Saudi "compensation" behind this , it's only now that ı have seen some Saudi general dying in London while under treatment for heart attack on about the 10th of June . The Yemenis claim they fired a load of Scuds at Khamis Mushayt , a town near the border . 20 days on , the Saudis claim the Wonder of the Age which made a name for Scud busting 20 years ago still does not deserve the accolades and they are ready to buy whatever Russia sells them , as long as they make the Yemenis stop . As in " Saudi Arabia, under the so-called Salman Doctrine, is facing increasing challenges. An Arab official told [...] that, in his opinion, the Houthis are increasing their ‘presence’ in the Kingdom’s southern provinces of Najran and Jizan, and that Houthi SCUD missiles are making their way through the defensive shields provided by the Americans, notably the PAC-3 system." How low the mighty fall , it was only last year when the Saudis openly threatened the Russians with massacres by the hand of Chechen jihadists at the Winter Games . Saudi money is real awe inspiring , too . With that prince donating 32 billions or so to womens' rights . Those of you with qualifications in CFC , be aware the New Turkey is claiming that with honest managers this "unimaginable" amount of money can do a lot of good , like removing world hunger . In case you are lookin' for work ... This coming right after the talk of buying Greece for the 1.6 billion €s of this month's debt payment would be like so beneficial to Israel . Give Athens to Ankara , so that Ankara will permit extraction of natural gas off Cyprus as if Tel Aviv needs anything but Washington . Not only a total lack of understanding on just how much the people are fed up with the hydrocarbon trade ... But an assumption that still require anybody and everybody who don't bend the knee to be a Jew in secret bondage to Israel ...

the paragraph above has obviously no connection to the post above , where a certain Hollywood personality is obliquely involved in the slave bazaars of the Middle East , but held back by the truth that she could swamp the market with too much money that the locals would never manage the asking price on their own , for those who remain . As numbers of supply goes down , the price has gone up from 20 $ for a concubine to 2000 $ of ransom ; as far as a newspaper account from the middle of June suggests . And "What?" to any questions on whether this has any bearing on the recent relaxation of the rules in the US on payment for captives . A coloured man (**) leads a country that claims primacy in beliefs that everybody is equal by birthright and celebrates yet another anniversary of being bound by a Bill that says thus and supports slavery by proxy ... is an issue that will not be resolved by mere ranting afterall . ı think disbanding the Saudi Arabia as well , like Qatar , should cost me less than 320 billions .

(*) does not mean the glorious Turkish Military can expect "help" , now nobody has like ever seen them fighting before .

(**) to be fair he leads a country that strives hard to increase liberties . It was just this morning when ı saw the great news that the 40 years old ban on picture taking in the Whitey Home has just been lifted . Had ı been a quarter real ı would be like crying , sobbing and babbling that this is so unfair . Now that there are people who make a living from telling the PM that his current co-president , that Obama kid , is so jealous of him and just copying the glorious website for the PM's 1150 room palace or something . We just heard the news a CH-47 is being bought as a VIP helicopter , ı will like seriously punish Pentagon if they copy that , too ...

So I understand my country (Czechia) has send weapons to kurds who are opposing the IS but the US in Iraq is blocking these from being delivered. Apparently US has also veto some strikes against strategic IS positions. And on the top of that USA is allied with Sauds who represent wahabi Islam one of the least tolerant and radical form of Islam and who sponzor the IS. So everything just about normal? Makes sense? Maybe Obama needs second Nobel Peace prize to do something about that?

it makes perfect sense . The New Turkey was established , meaning all possible sorts of "defiance" that might have been useful for days like these , were "taken over" by the adherents of the New . We , not me , not we those bunch of retirees and an idiot like me in a weird forum , but we Turks were put to sleep with a sweet lullaby of how Kurds were simple minded savages that could fight for us to steal Iraqi oil for us . They are though the darlings or something of the world . For they are fighting these creatures called the ISIL and get so much support that they are getting brash . So instead of some crazy event like a dogfight ot two , America immediately stalls deliveries and support and immediately increases them if assured Turks are not looking . Have been watching Syria with a keen interest for some 5 years now and ı have never known who was our man on the ground or what the aims of this country are . Apart from America has a timetable which it finds somehow terribly difficult to follow .

AMMAN (Reuters) - Islamic State fighters have seized the last major oilfield under Syrian government control during battles over a vast central desert zone, a group monitoring the conflict said on Monday.

The Jazal field was now shut down and clashes were ongoing east of Homs, with casualties reported on both sides, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, without giving dates or more details.

Syria's army said it had repulsed an attack in the same area but did not mention Jazal or comment on how much of the country's battered energy infrastructure remained under its sway. It said it killed 25 fighters, including non-Syrian jihadists.

It's not looking good for Assad.

Isis are threatening to capture a vital highway in syria the loss of which could push millions of refugees out of government held areas

The Assad government will not necessarily collapse overnight, but any sign that it is weakening will convince millions of Syrians that it is time to leave the country. Despite the deepening refugee crisis brought about by the continuing civil war in Syria, governments in Britain, the US, France and elsewhere are doing little to help end it. Half the Syrian people have already been displaced from their homes and millions more may soon be desperately trying to flee their country. The Syrian war and European refugee crisis are part and parcel of the same thing.

Oh. So you'd nuke them, then?

You do know that air power alone never accomplished much of anything, anywhere?

Oh. So you'd nuke them, then?

You do know that air power alone never accomplished much of anything, anywhere?

The use of nuclear weapons seems to be the only responsible choice left for this troubled region. We need to use it first on terrorist held region after which we would need to announce to the world that should Islamic Terrorism continue we will use more nuclear weapons in an ever increasing volume across the Middle East. Eventually victory would be assured and we would be able to put the Middle East problem to bed.

UN must get better at stopping the wars and much harsher against anyone who starts the war. Including operations like Iraqi Freedom.

War is a continuation of politics by other means!

The UN hold no authority over such things and even by the standard legal definition within the UN Charter and its various resoultions, Iraqi Freedom was entirely legal.
