If you look at his twitter feed you can see he was supportive of the Sunni rebels who later became ISIS and later Islamic state. So as a reward for his support, they cut his head.

This is simply disgusting! When you are making accusation of that gravity about innocent murder victim who was serving you and me you have to show more. When you are being that specific -- you cannot simply prove it with "you can see" statement and the link. I looked it up and I saw nothing. Instead a chill went down to my spine reading all the meticulous reporting that has been done just before he got kidnapped. Burden of proof always lays on the accuser. So would you edit your post with exact quotes and leave it to us to evaluate your accusations.

This sums up Mr. Foley's real attitude. Which is the attitude of most reasonable people here and around the world. World is a mess and I have no answers.

Ah...missed that. In defense, he was clearly responding to CH. Having been in that position myself I can attest that remaining rational can be challenging. He may have just got caught in the reality that some claims are so wild that even disputing them hauls you into the madness.

Sadly, CH was much more specific. Almost mathematical if you re-read what I have quoted. And I don't care where he is coming from -- it is simply insensitive, but without solid proof it also amounts to insult to victim's memory. People get infractions for far milder statements.

His "reward" for supporting them was what we saw. The fact of the matter is this that those who go soft on terrorists will eventually fell the wrath of the terrorists. He went over there to report things from their POV and he has done the ultimate reporting of their POV when this was released. Trying to be friendly to those who don't view as being right is like trying to play with a crocodile.

I thought they claim the beheading was done in retaliation for airstrikes, not as a reward for support.

Only USA and UK do not pay them money. They were asking 132 millions for Mr. Foley. They just wanted to retaliate and send recruitment message to fanatics who live in the west.

French journalist who spent some time with Mr. Foley in captivity and been secretly ransomed by French was on air today. He said he does not know details, but Germany, Spain, France -- they all payed ransom through proxies, and all deny it. He said -- I am just happy that I am alive.

white Wabbit proves to be an apt name for Chuck Hagel . Who was almost as funny as that rabbit hunter from Bugs Bunny last night declaring ISIL is "beyond" anything the US has ever seen . Strangely weird he turns out to be a member of Beatles , some group of friends apparently well known in London already .
