ok toteone, i think a viking civ is way too out of character. If i can wait for a German Nation, so should you.

No, sorry, Toteone, pay attention to the rules.

"The star of empire takes its way..."

An empire. With these two words, the Grand Vizier described and made clear his plans for the future. The Magi gathered around the table began whispering among each other. One of them questioned, "An empire? Vizier, how exactly do you plan to create such an empire? We are surrounded by mountains to the east, west, and the south, and we are surrounded by the sea to the north. Will we have any fertile land in this empire or only difficult obstacles to overcome?" Achae looked at the Magi. "Henois, our city is the wealthiest, our fields are the most fertile, our women are the most beautiful, our men are the most brave - but most importantly, our kingdom is the strongest. We will not be confined to this area alone. Traders from every direction come to the palace everyday and tell us of tales of kingdoms in lands long forgotten." "The creation of such an empire will require dicipline. It will require patience. But it will require blood. We will put an emphasis on a stong army, so we may conquer those who reject our will. We will put an emphasis on a strong navy, so we may explore the seas. Luca will be powerful."

"My friends, our empire is not a matter of time - it is inevitable. It is our destiny! Let fate guide us towards the vast frontiers that await us." The Magi stood up in respect, which signaled their approval. They bowed their heads and declared, "For Luca!"

Three weeks later...

Behind him, the horns blew. That was their signal. Achae, at his side the other eleven Magi on horseback, was leading an attack against the barbarians in the mountains. The greatest army Luca had seen had been assembled over the last month, to create Achae's vision of an empire. Men with bows, arrows, spears, swords, and shields had followed their leader into battle, Ahead of them, a couple of thousand of barbarians began screaming their bizarre chants. Then, all of a sudden, an arrow flew in the air. Almost the entire army watched it fly towards their ranks, and they all saw who it hit. Kantane, one of the elder Magi, was pierced in the stomach by the arrow, and he fell to the ground. Achae, on horseback, was shocked. Kantane was an old man and had definantly not survived. He turned around and lifted his arm... "Men of Luca, CHARGE!" He pointed his hand forwards and at once, thousands upon thousands of men ran forward, on their legs and on their horses' legs.

Two hours later.

The Lucan army had dispersed and were searching the barbarian's bodies for any loot. The battle had been finished quickly,..

Retribution swift and deadly.

The Empire of Luca, Plans:
  • Develop a large standing army, well-trained and well-diciplined.
  • Develop a small navy, but have its sailors very well-trained, focused, and brave.
  • Cross the Black Sea and settle on the opposite coast, including Crimea.
  • Have our army move east and west, imposing our rule on local tribes' lands and settling on unsettled land. We want to create a large, but stable empire.
  • Begin trade with the eastern Mediterranean nations.
  • There should be large confidence in the government because it is ruled by twelve men, rather than just one with sole power. The Grand Vizier is like a King; he is the most respected among the Magi and is seen as a tie-breaker if the Magis disagree on something. The Magi are the wisest of the wise, and their roots in society are deep. They are not ones to quarrel amongst each other.

One Ripped Civ Description.

The Olmecs were the first of the ancient civilizations of Mexico, notable for their colossal stone sculptures and complex calendar system. They originated in the present day state of Veracruz.

The Olmecs built ceremonial cities, with constructions including pyramids and temples built from mud and earth. They were probably the first muralists and cave painters in Mexico, and also produced statues in jade. Typical Olmec art features jaguars, thick-lipped warriors and goatee bearded men. Often jaguar and human characteristics are combined in were-jaguar babies and children; the Olmecs believed themselves to be descendents of the jaguar and held the animal in high religious status.

The largest Olmec momuments are the colossal stone heads, with thick lips and helmets. They have been found up to around 60 miles (100 km) from the source of the raw material and it is not known exactly how these 7 foot (2 meter) high sculptures were transported to the ceremonial sites where they were found.

Major discoveries of Olmec artifacts have been found in La Venta and San Lorenzo Tenochtitlán. Some Olmec works, including five of the colossal heads, are on display in La Venta Park, an outdoor museum, having been relocated when the oil industry expansion threatened the original location. There is little to attract tourist to the archaeological sites, and for those on a short visit the best introduction to Olmec art is probably to be gained at the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City.

So ermm

Heh. I didn't realize that you had already played a Tartessian nation until I had already posted it. I actually went through a lot of trouble looking for a suitable Iberian location. :p

Deccanian Plans:

-Take our strongest men and arm them with whatever weaponry we have to form an army, even if it isn't a giantgantic one.

-Establish a agricultural society and value it over all other things.

-Try to create a "crude" religion, to teach our people why things happen.

and here I thought you had read my history forum article on the subject :(

Egypt

(Most of this isn't real history)

By 5500 BC , the hunter-gatherers of Egypt began to settle down. Hunting was no longer a main part of their diet , it was now replaced with domesticated animals and cereal grains. But It would take over 1000 years for Egyptians to begin using basic artisian skills , such as pottery.

By 3000 BC the Egyptians had settled the Central and Northern Nile. They were still not unified under one ruler but rather seperated. Then aurond that time something extraordinary happened. Barbarains sweeped down from the Sinai and began to harass all the villages. Someone had to unite the Egyptian people. al-Akamen , father of Akamen , was just a simple peasent boy. But when his village was attacked he sprang into action , helping to defend it.

Within a year al-Akamen became cheif of his village and msot neighboring ones , with his strong charismatic attitude he had no trouble getting people to follow him. His people had succeded in scaring off the barbarians and had unified a nice chunk of Egypt. al-Akamen's Egypt was on the rise as his army swelled in ranks and the men counqered the rest of Northern Egypt. It is now 10 years from the Great Unification and Egypt's army is relativly small from so much fighting , but they are ready to expand their great empire.

Development plans

- Our people are tired of war so the army doesn't need to increase more than it is.
- Since our army is to remain relatively small , train what we have.
- Begin building great ships and send them up the Medditeranaen(sp) to greet new peoples. Spend one point on ships.
- Begin to Expand south and west.
- Begin to mine any metals we find.
- Begin to develop a easy to learn writing system.
- Begin freindly trade relations with any people we meet ( barbarian or otherwise ) , but if they refuse to be freindly then don't bother.

(ooc: I hope i ended up making the cap or else all this is useless.)

Location , incase you forget , : I want my capitol right in the fork of the Northern Nile river.

and here I thought you had read my history forum article on the subject

Does it say about all those things that YOU personally did with it? ;) Albeit I do remember some history article of yours in the NES forum about the discovery of Western Tyrrhenian Sea or somesuch.

(I am however rather surprised that Plexus didn't know your career with it...)

Okay, time's up, no more stuff to post. Those without nation descriptions will be nullified, with the exception of Sheep2, who DID at least post a development plan of sorts to prove his commitment and whose civ is historical.

Beginning BT I Update.

Darn: its coming along rather slowly due to computer problems. Well, its fine now, but still, I lost some time.
