JalNES I: Quick and Easy

Yes, from Carmen. Go annoy alex994 and Darkening. :p

I'm SORRY! A word of advice, procrastination never helps

I think Jal is just using you guys as an excuse to procrastinate starting the update. Seriously, its been quite long enough (not that you guys (alex and darkening) need to be told; I know you know).

On the other hand, maybe I won't harrass the mod during a war... nevermind...

Update started. So that you're all sufficiently terrified...

Update 19: Genesis 3:19

300-250 BC

Look it up.

19 By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return."

weird, but cryptic. nations are going to Die I take it? ah well, Considering I'm fortified and Heavly dug in, Worst I can suffer it a mortal wound that will kill me next turn. Ah well. possibly Briton or summer? Or Egypt. they are due to die.

If you look at it that way. HOWEVER: the jewish interpretation of that verse of Bereshit in many D'var Torahs include the fact that death is not the important message, but returning to Hashem. Maybe religion is going to have a much larger impact on the NES. :shifty:

Update is about 1/4 done.

lurker's comment: even i managed to update my NES within four days last time :p Well technically five, but i was knocked out with flu last monday. Though, i dont have a life or anything to get in the way. Point is, im looking forward to next update :)

Most of you have probably realized this, but I might as well make it official.

The first month of delay since the last update was honestly not my fault. I simply had far too much work to do. But over the last two weeks or so, I've been constantly putting off and putting off working on the update. Tonight I finally realized that updating isn't any fun for me any more. So, I'm regretfully declaring this dead.

I think this did pretty well for a first NES. It lasted 2500 posts, after all. This summer, I really had a lot of fun modding. I enjoyed staying up late at night and whipping off updates in 5 hours. But ever since I got back to school, it's been more of a chore. Updates became too long, and too tedious.

If/when I open another NES, my approach will be different. I'll probably keep the same rules, and maybe add more--stats aren't my problem. But the updates will change. Writing about every action each nation took every turn took far too long. I won't do that again.

I think this NES has been around long enough to deserve awards, so I'll do them over the weekend. I'll use the awards from FarowNES, but people should feel free to suggest other categories.

I doubt that anyone wants to continue this, but if anyone else wants to mod it I can send you all my files.

Thanks for playing. Most of it's been fun.

I think perhaps you should use the awards that das gives out at the end of the ITs instead of the ones Farow uses :(

*sigh* I was looking forward to this update but it's understandable. What are the odds of a continuation in the future?

Agreed the awards das gives out are so much better. And I may even gain one.

*sigh*

Deep apologies for not sending orders, but I simply couldn't get them done. It was a blast and, hopefully, I'll be able to say that about the next one.

Well it was a fun NES. I hope you continue this one though with your new rules.

My awards were not good :(.

I wanted to fight at least one major war as Prussia. Maybe the next NES I will choose a better starting location.

Well done, Jal. I'd like das style awards myself.

Arrrghh. Right after FBONESIII died, I had the strongest feeling that this would end as well. :(

I really should try joining more NESes though.

But still, I reeeeaally liked this NES. I had plans in mind for it.

Aren't you Brandenburg in another NES? ;)
