a bit on egypt. still looking. shows the Location... JD, everyhting I look at points to Iron being insanly common. I'll keep looking, but perhaphs it is everywhere?

Yes, actually from what I've read, the discovery of the easy-to-work iron precipitated many a war/trade breakdown because of the fact that it was so common. People did not have to maintain friendly relations if they didn't want to because iron was practically everywhere and easier to make. They also did not have to maintain expensive trade arrangements with faraway places.

But this is just from memory and I have no motivation to back it up with citation, maybe someone else can/will or can/will show that I was mistaken.
