Hey bro, I just got Warlords working (THANK YOU!) its awesome, and I downloaded your mod and took a look at it, looks great! I'll send you a PM tomorrow with a few questions, but I for one dont think that the name needs to be changed at all, its a good name you have here and it goes with mod well. Stick with the same name and I'll help you with the mod in any way I can, just let me know.

Hey, i gave this MOD a shot and it looks really promising and cool, the idea is cool and it has a great potential although i wouldn't dare to call it the first warlords fantasy mod yet, cause so far it's just warlords with a bunch of fantasy units (no offense intended here).

Maybe a good starting point would be to work out the civs a bit and polish them (for playtesting is a bit annoying to actually play this mod, as orc, goblin, elf, undead and so on civilizations are still called japanese and it's hard to guess to which civilization they mean when other civs tell you to stop trading or go to war against other people...)

Regarding units, i would suggest to have as a starting point maybe less units to choose but more different (in terms of abilities) to each other? although so many units make the mod full flavoured, in terms of strategy doesn't make that much sense to have so many different units to build when they are more or less the same

I read on the beginning of the thread you were doing some "elements" things, i don't know if the intention is to have them as civis or religions, but would be cool for example to have the elements as religions, and then all units or some units built on cities with those elements religion could have access to some special unique promotions, or spells (maybe called "Chis" or "karmas" or whatever japanese name that suits)

Would be cool also and i guess easy to make a map/scenario for the mod as a starting piece as well, i've seen a couple of japan maps for warlords i think and just adding the civs and a couple of things to them would be easy and it will give the mod more flavour as well

i'm looking forwards for new updates for the mod, keep up the good work!!

The Civilizations are changing slowly but surely, so far i have new civs coming out in the next update, They will include: Moon, Sun, Water, Earth, Evil, so far, am still working on putting certain units with the civs, but this is really hard all by myself, so far.:crazyeye:
I have added a new religion also, lots more buildings, lot of new techs, look at post # 2, UPDATE.;)

Things are coming slooow but sure. I need alot of help.

Maps are included with the MOD, i have a scenario there called "Japanese Mythology 119X109" and the other "Budda 89X89", if anymore suggestion, pls ask, and again thx for the comments, like i said good, bad or well ugly, LOL
The main thing i intent is to "Just Have Fun.":goodjob:
 
This mod is great so far, and I remember you saying that you wanted to change the civs or factions to being those based on fire water etc so here is something which I hope will help you in some manner. ;)

well, the update is nice, but I don't see no japanese mythical monks and martial artist in there was well. also please add a unit that have the legendary blade, Masamune (I don't really know what it look like, but It DO NOT look like the one in final fantasy games).

The dark samurais and other units that are dark, are those suppose to represent the units from Onimusha? speaking of Onimusha, i don't know if it's a myth for the japanese, but if it is, add the unit in there.
 
how are we supposed to download from filefactory i dont see a d/l link on that site? arent tehre other places to post a file?

Hello! I think the WHOLE IDEA is Great. Still, the mod lacks a ingredient which is a connection, or some kind of history.

Following ElCoejo ideas, I think you should set up civilizations acording to the Taoist Cosmology Map. But instead of naming the CIVs after Fire, Water and stuff, you should Base the wholse set, in one civilization. Japanese Civilization, after that you should divide it, into clans. Each Clan would have special abilities, a prefered religion, unique buildings and traits. Since there is only eight universe forces, it would be cool to introduce spiritual forces, like deamons, and angels. Not meaning that the angels wont attack anyone, just to have a differentiation. If you like the ideia i can evolve it into a back ground history. If it helps, I´ll help.
 
Is it possible to limit units to what religion you have?

Instead of unique civs for the kami, yomi, etc. What if religion signified an alliance with a specific group in heaven.

Example: Inari, if you select the Inari religion you can build Kitsune, they would act as tricksters, spys, and missionaries.

That would also mean retribution if you say forsook your religion.
 
That would be difficult BloodyCelt, because number one I am currently not familiar with an XML command to put specific units with religions, but perhaps it can be done I admittedly havent messed with religions as of yet. But the major issue I forsee there is what would occur when you changed religions? Would all those units be disbanded? It is a good idea, one I think Strategyonly and I should look into, but I sense issues with it's implementation.

EDIT: Check this out, I found this in the UnitInfo XML file:

Seems as though it can be done! :)

MightyGooga - I actually would rather have civs be something like "Fire Clan" "Water Clan" etc more than the Japanese clans - just because I think that it would be more unique and interesting, but I leave it up to Strategyonly to decide for certain. I think demons and angels is a pretty awesome idea though, and if Strategyonly can find the resources I would like to see them introduced too.

Elconejo: Yes. I think the mod would get deeper if we used Japan only as a base to develop a Fantasy World. The civics Sebiche showed us are really interesting though.
 
Sorry i havent been around the last few days, but i had some teeth pulled and two of them they had to drill out to the roots, and made me sicker than all get out and the fever just broke a little while ago, still not feeling the best, but anyways,

i dunno but it may be buggy i built a catapult thingy and my screen went haywire and started flashing colors and basicly it crapped out and froze while flashing colors
