I was wondering where Jesus would be on the political compass.

Maybe you guys can help me out.

Here's the site: http://www.politicalcompass.org/test

Q1: If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations.

I'm thinking JC would be a "strongly agree" here unless said trans-national corporation was the church.

Opinions?

I'll move on to Q2 when we have a consensus.

authoritarian lefty.

I might say that he'd agree except for the Q and A where it says "If you believe it can do both, say strongly disagree." There's also the fact that I don't believe Jesus would support stealing from those who have to give to those that don't, rather, he'd support giving of your own free will.

I don't think it can primarily do both.

It doesn't mention stealing either, stick to the question as asked please.

OK.

I think that not regulating the corporations much (Obviously you have to make sure they aren't like conspiring against the public or building nukes or something) will help both the corporations and the people. I believe Jesus would agree with that.

jesus wouldnt approve of people getting insanely rich. jesus quite hated the rich.

apparently it's almost impossible for them to go to heaven.

I think Jesus would strongly agree.

OK I'll take that as a strongly agree for now unless someone presents a compelling argument later.

Q2: I'd always support my country, whether it was right or wrong.

Are we having Jesus as a citizen of Israel or of the Kingdom of Heaven here?

EDIT: I think we'd have to go with Israel since the Kingdom of Heaven can't do any wrong, I think.

I am not going to even consider trying to judge what Christ would say about things that he never touched on.

render unto ceasar.

strongly agree.

First of all Jesus said "If you hate you have committed murder." He didn't hate ANYONE. He hated their sin. However, he never said it was a sin to gain wealth, he said that its "Better" to give it away. I hope Mobboss comes over here as he understands this better than I do.

Also, its impossible for ANYONE to be perfect, rich or poor, hence grace.

OK I'll take that as a strongly agree for now unless someone presents a compelling argument later.

First of all, I'll agree on Israel, however I don't think it matters as everyone would support their country if its right. The question is, when you feel its wrong, would you still support them.

I think Jesus would obey his government but that's not the same as SUPPORTING THEM. According to the Bible he's the Son of God and so cannot sin, therefore he cannot support sin. He'd strongly disagree.

By the way, this thread is awesome;)

strongly agree.

Well, render unto ceasar isn't really about supporting your country (in a moral way), IMO it shows that you shouldn't care too much about worldly things.

I am not going to even consider trying to judge what Christ would say about things that he never touched on.

Its for fun primarily, most people here are Atheist anyway.

Its just guesswork really, however, when you view the whole Bible I think Jesus would be pretty close to where I am on the political compass.

he never resisted the romans, who had the ultimate jurisdiction over him. in fact he supported at least compliance to them.

so at least STRONGLY disagree seems to be too much.

It's mainly Strongly Disagree with Frank throwing in a Strongly Agree... so maybe we should pick just "Disagree"?
