Jesus Question to forum Christians: Where's all the carpentry?

There's no real reason why we would expect it to survive for thousands of years, or be special or anything. While it would admittedly be cool to have a Jesus chair that gives you superpowers, there's not Scriptural support for such an idea.

So: it probably got eaten by termites or broken by children or burned by the Romans, or whatever. Kind of a boring answer, but also the most likely one.

Here it is. He basically helped out in his father's trade, the word is "tekton" which means something like manual labourer, more a builder or construction worker than carpenter.

Fraid not scy. Maybe google would help. If you google the words tekton and jesus you get a bunch of things describing him as a construction worker, skilled labourer, and so forth. I get the impression the word means all those things, and would include carpentry.

I think you would need to bring some history in as well to figure out the specific context - in small Jewish peasant towns in Galilee, would there have been specific carpenters or would they have been more generalised labourers?

Because i know what it means but it takes me quite a time to write it in English and explain it in English. Translating from wiki is easier. Plus my tranlsation from wiki still did not get the point across perfectly. What art means in Greek *Texni" and what it means in English is different , i believe. Oh i remembered that English word . Craft. (Which = texni while art also = texni). So the answer to your question is that my English is not good enough.
