JFD and Janboruta's Civilisations

I'm sure he is just enjoying his stay in his golden cage alongside with Magarethe.

Hey, JFD! :)
I like very much your latest mods! What you do next?
Please, make someone from the Russian rulers (Alexander II Liberator, for example).

Very much liking Burgundy! Has Innocent been shelved for now?

There's a lot of shifting priorities when it comes to civs now, some are brought back to the table, some are put off for a bit. But I believe all civs that have had art done for them will be released prior to October. So Denmark and the Popecage are probably going to wait for a while while we're doing some new-old stuff in a while for a while.

Please, make someone from the Russian rulers (Alexander II Liberator, for example).

Never enough Russias, eh? :p

I was going to say, haven't you and JFD done like 47 Russias already? I think there's a Erwin Schroedinger Limit to how many Russias can co-exist within the game's database at the same time before you get a No no no! from The Sid Himself, or you get dimensionally 'slipstreamed' to a reality where there is no such thing as the game Civilization , or worse, you get both.:faint:

Bhutan bug: My Great Prophet guy had a 0 culture treatise. No errors, although there is (possibly)

Code:
[29668.644] near "INSERT": syntax error

in

Code:
[29668.644] , Update Database - Audio.sql, 0.049015

Could also be a bug with one of my mods, though :p

Innocent could well end up being my last Civ V civ, to commemorate my first (Pius)*. It is a tricky civ to get the design right for, and I'm not going to rush it. But he will be done, as Jan later says, before October.

*first that wasn't later added by Firaxis :p

In the mystical lands, which have the name Civilization V Customisation Wikia. Sometimes this land reveals a ton of hype.

Well, I put up the wikis first because I can't be bothered after I've already released the civ, and otherwise it may not get done.

Spain hype!
Also, hm, Han got re-added as well...

Hm, yeah, I decided I liked Han Wudi after all - he doesn't have as much name recognition as Yongle or Cixi, but, as it turns out, he is another (like Bhutan) that I feel I should work on, because I wrote an essay on the subject of his style of government (oriental/hydraulic despotism). Sukritact is kind enough to have done the leaderscene, so pieces are slowly coming together for the Chinese split. Plus, Jan's icon for it is, like, the most beautiful civ icon ever. Maybe with the exception of Burma's.

Where can I see this map? :)

On the wiki, but here it is:

Regalman also made a fantastic map for Isabella:

Next, Philip II. Then, possibly [REDACTED]. After that, I think Jan and I are finally launching the invasion of the Balkans, although we are slowly collecting art for the Chinese split with Sukritact's help. I don't think I'll be doing any new Russian rulers for Civ V, nor any others that aren't on my existing list. Maybe for Civ VI, we'll continue with Alexander II and Rurik, who were discussed for Civ V. But I think the most important thing will be to install Nicholas II :p And maybe I'll pick a new obsession :p

Well, at least when Putin becomes ruler of the world, I will have a cushy job as his propaganda minister :p

I'll take a look at the Tulku issue, but I believe this is a CP issue that I'll have to discuss with Gazebo. It cropped up for de Gaulle's GG, which can be expended for culture, too. It seems that this ability has been tied to the Great Artist's AI (that is, how the AI knows to use the GA), so fails if the unit has a different AI (such as Tulku's Great Prophet AI). This doesn't appear to be an issue in the vanilla game, however.

My files are Core_Audio.sql, so I don't think that's mine.

Huh, any reason why Rio de la Plata is spelled out there? It wasn't quite a thing, as a Viceroyalty I mean, until the 18th century, which is way past the date on the map, so it's strange to see it appear and not, say, Nueva Granada. I'd also put Potosi in the map if possible because it was an important settlement and is recognizable thanks to the Natural wonder.

Also, any reason why the territories from the Americas are shown and not the Phillipines? I mean, they are named after this very leader, so their exclusion is kinda weird

Also, the Wallmapu wasn't Spanish territory. :p

Excellent. Looks like my failed attempt isn't needed anymore :p

If there's any salvageable ideas here that you'd like to adapt, that would be swell: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=568439

Issue with Bhutan decision: After enacting, didn't receive Piety with my Faith. No Lua error, though. Also, the Gross National Happiness decision says it can be enacted every era, although I presume that technically it will only be enact-able once.

So by any chance would Janboruta happen to have a tutorial or list of resources on how to create some of the artwork? Many of these civs have better artwork and concepts than the game itself.

I'm specifically interested in the filters and tools used for the maps and diplomacy screen backgrounds. I won't be able to come any where even close to your work, but I thought I'd give it a try. Any tips at all would be great. Thanks!

I haven't been around here for a while, so, is there any way to tell which Civs have been updated? I've noticed on the first post, some have a link to the workshop and some don't, so I'm assuming that's an indicator of whether they are able to be used?

EDIT: I'm a dummy, the infographics are the indicator. Back to lurking I go. :p

Yeah, updates have been here and there. But a rule of thumb: Infographics in spoilers (i.e. Constantine, Teddy Roosevelt, Victor Emmanuel III, Clemenceau, Bhutan, Burgundy, George V) are the most up-to-date. Ones with Infographics sorted by era (but not in spoilers) are the next up-to-date. Ones with Infographics not sorted by era (after the "New Civilizations/Alternative Leaders" heading) are the next up-to-date, and the ones with no Infographics are the least up-to-date.

Yeah, I think so. Thanks. I'm pretty sure the Professor recommended I do a Music Bureau decision for Han Wudi, funnily enough. I was also indeed planning on giving Wu the Pavilion and Han Wudi the Paper Maker, although the Chu-ko-nu will be going to Sukritact's Three Kingdoms civ, IIRC. I do also really like the extra Specialist yields during GAs, so I might use that in some form for Wu.

Worth noting that there are exceptions: Hapesthut Egyptian Woman breaks trade routes, and Ahkenaten has a few simple database errors, and a game breaking error if you try to read the Hymns of Aten.

Any others?

What? Since when?

Roosevelt's UI triggers for non-Roosevelt.

Reading them prevents you from ending the turn, forcing you to reload the game. I guess "game breaking" was a bit harsh, but I'd still recommend not reading them.

I guess JFD puts his whole power into the modding of Sovereignty? It's just a little pain for my patience everytime I look at the wiki for Philipp II ( Isabella's new UU just looks amazing!). :p

No, sorting out career paths atm. Sovereignty work is a bit stagnated by how the Legislature works (or, doesn't :p), so I guess, when I can do modding work, it'll be on Philip. Though I still am uncertain about what Decisions to give Isabella.
