JFD's The World According to Modders

No problem. You may also want to add Sean999 and me as citystates, since we fixed it and did another mod of our own. And because I'm vain. ;)

Let me know which UA you want to choose, when you've decided :)

I haven't begun implementing your one yet; so basically all is left (I just released this mod, Louis XIV and the update to CulDiv in the last two days, I need some rest...)

I'll also add a list of the included City-States to the OP, as I've only just now seen you're request to see such.
I'd rather go with It's Always a Secret.

And everything still needs to be done then? Right then, I'll get right to work with the civilization and leader SQL. And maybe the text - maybe. I'll see what I get done by tonight. Then I'll probably take everything I've given you so far and compact into one folder - the AW Data folder.

(And lucky for me, when I was making the SQL files yesterday I had to guess what you named the civ. Now it's in my hands to decide. :goodjob: )

I don't suppose there's a different colour scheme that you'd rather? It's fairly close to Hirams - still different enough, but if there's a better option...
Eh. My red is more orangish than his, and I have white while he has yellow. Its the difference between Persia and Austria, basically - different enough.
In actuality my favorite color scheme is blue on white, but that's wildly different from my avatar. I'll stick with the current color scheme.

EDIT:
Oh, while I'm making the colors for the Civilizations.sql file, what are the RGB values for the icon?
Nevermind, I got them

Right then!
Some 3 - 4 hours later, I've finished 4 SQL files - civilization, leader, trait and color. No, I didn't take an hour to make each file, but I did waste plenty of time. :p

I've been working on the text, but it's not included here in this folder because I don't want to split the text into two files. What I can show for my work, however, after examining the other civ's text, is my own DoM text:
Spoiler AW's DoM Text :
Arise and shine forth, O member and modder AgressiveWimp, who is called AW, he with the name of extreme stupidity, chairman of the Sixteen Nation Project. In a vast realm of intelligent scripters, passionate writers and talented artists, how shall you be known? It was by your hand, and your hand (and keyboard) only that the AW's New Civilizations for Gods and Kings Project, privately known as the Sixteen Nations Project, was launched and advanced. With nigh no help you built this considerable federation of newly added empires from the ground up - coding, text, and art. Somewhere along the way you attempted to create the medieval Kingdom of Georgia, but that totally failed, several times, and was put on hiatus for a time uncountable. At least the Invisibility Patch was more successful. And so was everyone else's mods after you help those countless n00bs with their petty failure to use logs and give adequate information about their problems. Maybe. Hopefully.

O gloriously and supremely humble AW, your civs have gained some recognition but not quite enough. Meanwhile, everyone around you boasts about their high-quality leaderscreens and heavily-collaborated Unique Abilities. Are you going to stand for this? Or will you blatantly show the world what one man sitting at a computer can accomplish with no help? Can you earn a place in the list of well-considered modders and, through your aid, help others to do the same? Can you build a civilization to stand the test of time?
:mischief:

Anyhow, I'll see tomorrow (or maybe some time tonight) if I can get the music defines and diplo responses written. And then I'll keep working on text and the unit. No idea what to do for the DoM screen, map or diplo screen, but I'll have figure out soon; I'd rather not use existing art assets...

AW_YetAnotherFolder.zip

I've always been a culture type of guy, and Sean is militaristic for sure.

Alright... I promised all remaining assets.
I've compressed everything into one folder. I've made so many slight changes that I figured most of it just needed to be reincluded. The folder includes everything of old, as well as the Diplo and DOM screens, the map image, icon atlases, diplomacy, text... the whole everything. I have nothing more to give.

AW_Addin_Full.zip

A couple of notes, you'll have to add in the icon atlases for the civilization icons yourself, since I don't have them. I've fully decided to use the Squid leader icons, as is illuminated by the Diplo and DOM screens. I also don't have the slightest clue how to do the last clause of the UA, so that's not included either.

And lastly, I still have no clue what to do for the unit. It'll be called a Terralegion and replace the GWI, all art assets included, but other than that no clue. I leave it in your hands to decide. +1% combat or experience gain percentage per battle entered, perhaps, or a new promotion tree.

- AW

EDIT: Some people I think would make good city-states if not full-fledged civs, DJSHenniger and tarcisiocm

Er... can has Mercantile CS? I know I'm not technically a modder, because I cannot code worth a damn, but I've been working hard on ancillary materials for TP, particularly his upcoming Zimbabwe. Hopefully that counts for something. =]

I'm flattered that I even made it onto the list, even if I'm just a City-State, but why am I a religious one? All my civs are secular, with the exception of Iran. And why is Pazyzrk a religious CS? He just works on fantasy mods!
PS - You call this beautiful Vampire religious?
Spoiler :

I should be listed under Vampire City-States, or something like that.

Sure, why not? :)

Pazyzrk is easier to justify; religion and fantasy are principally similar. With you, I just thought of the civs you generally have done. I didn't think too hard, evidently, but it was hard to justify who would be a religious City-State. If you'd like a more specific type, feel free to request it.

Also, if you're looking for more CS names... Wodhann for cultural, DJSHenninger for... I dunno. And also tarcisiocm. They all at least seem to have entered the Modding world relatively recently and so have slipped under my radar.
EDIT: Didn't see Wodhann on the list before

I'd be willing to be a City-State replacement, if you're still searching for some. At least for a while, until I get a few more Civilizations released.

I'd like to do a game, if I ever get added. Though I'd like to edit the text files I submitted first.
Also, quick question for JFD - why am I a cultural CS? Instead of, y'know, a militaristic one? :mischief:

(Also the image links on the front page expired)
EDIT: New Text ---> https://www.dropbox.com/s/0vzh2qc8t8m7oyu/AW_Text_en_US.xml
(Can't attach the XML file and was having trouble when I attached it as a .txt and tried to download it)

I do intend to update the mod with you and ViceVirtuoso (and those who requested to be City-States), but, understandably, motivation for supporting a tongue-in-cheek mod is before my motivation to do any of my other (hundreds of) projects. Probably when I'm between trimesters in July. But I'll have your updated text.

I made most authors of civilisations cultural City-States, where not full civs.

Hundreds? :wow:
It takes me long enough to make a mod that I find it hard to imagine someone making hundreds of them. :crazyeye:

And it's been about 2 months since this mod came out... what' s another 1 - 2 months? :)
I actually thought this thread was dead until Viregel posted yesterday.
I made most authors of civilisations cultural City-States, where not full civs.
Ah. I guess that makes sense.

I'm kind of interested to see what ViceVirtuoso came up with for his civ's uniques...

Hundreds is a satirical observation of the number of projects I want to do, but probably won't be able to finish, not an actual figure :p

Let's see: I have 12 standards civs I want to make, 1 fantasy civ, 6 alternate leaders, 8 civs to update significantly, 1 alternate leader to give a significant update to, 3 civs to give minor updates to, Cultural Diversity, Exploration Continued Expanded, Sovereignty Revised, Piety and Prestige and this World According to Modders. And of course, this is to be done alongside my tumultuous social life and my university work, and my supposed intent to be a writer.

As you can see, my plate is rather full. I'm just glad I'm not modding a game, because I'd never get time to play it!

ViceVirtuoso' UA is a few posts back. I actually have all of their attributes implemented and working. I'm mostly just waiting on setting you up within the mod.
