Turn 0:
Our GNP and production are looking good, MM cities somewhat, set priorities
Think I'll try Hanging Gardens @ capital too, 6 turns
EOT Turn 0:
Greeks suddenly have a crossbowman in their city
Turn 1:
Swordsman pillages iron mine, drop off a couple axemen
EOT Turn 1: Crossbowman attacks our swordsman on pillaged iron tile and we lose
Crossbowman retreats into city without having taken a single point of damage
Turn 2: moving more military, worker actions
EOT Turn 2: Crossbowman tries attacking our main stack on jungle. This time we win.
Turn 3: being patient, bombarded city down to 0% defense now, more troops will be here in a couple
EOT Turn 3: Optics come in, set to Code of laws
Turn 4: More troops arrive. Will try next turn
Turn 5:..ok changed my mind. next turn. War elephants dropped off.
Turn 6: here we go
Catapult suicides against city stack
War elephant (86.7%) beats archer
War elephant (86.7%) beats archer
Axemen (94.4%) beats phalanx
Sparta is ours
Let's see what he's willing to give us
We sign peace treaty for polytheism, priesthood and all his gold (30)
We then trade saladin metal casting for his Calendar
(note: here I accidentally MISCLICKED and DEMANDED his Calendar once and got a -1 modifier
He's pleased with us after the trade though)
EOT TUrn 6:
Washington finishes Hanging Gardens
We can afford to expand even more build settler at 2 turns
Turn 7:
Galleys begin exploring around them, time for some infrastructure at our cities
EOT Turn 7:
Code of Laws comes in, set to Literature
Turn 8:
EOT TUrn 8:
Literature comes in
Set to...music. Might as well hoard all the free stuff because we can, probably civil service afterwards to spread irrigation to one of our cities on main continent
Turn 9: Capital attempts great library @ 12 turns, maybe choprush a bit
Turn 10:

OK skipped a lot of details so a few screenshots follow:

Our newest city. I also built a settler in our capital and we have many viable settlement spots, including these little islands SW and W of Sparta. The SW one has horses and a clam; the W one has 2 sugar and a fish. Proposed settlement spots are either-or imo, taking overlap into consideration. Of course we could settle the rest of our continent too
We can probably afford a couple more settlers right now at least.

Our home continent. Atlanta could use some irrigation spreading to help grow faster. Civil service will do that. It can be a nice commerce city, probably windmill some or all of the hills there.
Washington going for the GL, one of the workers is chopping too.
Our settler considering where to found our next city. It can be on our main continent or another island, Galley is nearby.
Actually on 2nd thought, why not both? Just build another settler
New happiness resource near Boston thanks to Calendar.
We could probably use a couple more workers somewhere down the road on our main continent. Lots of jungles and terraforming remaining.

Looking good all around...but apparently for our people, their life candles burn at both ends..yet what a splendor of light it is
