K-Mod Deity game(s)

I just noticed how badly i wrote that, sorry..
will continue this one until it's won or lost, /exit ment closing the game for today (yesterday) ;)

Yup the loveless state of this mod in terms of UI and screens was why i never really tried before, i actually like some small annoyances and if relis can poof that's okay imo (just like Wang causing a city revolt in my Cap). It's a bit like random events could be if they were better.

But in terms of playing comfort it's terrible after something like BAT, for sure.
Like playing a beta version before it's released.

Lib was just bulbed, compass needed first and now i can trade for machinery. Nobody had compass, great tech for gold as well

While waiting for gunpowder, i was trying to let cities grow or whip forges. Gold was enuf to upgrade all ellies, 9 Cuirs already here before whipping.

I would like to hit Wang before longbows, he has this in Seoul..plenty units but they are all weak still.

I would think that big amounts of Cuirs will be needed. Once they are rolling, we will see how it goes with quality vs. masses :)

not the fairest of odds for sure, but what can you do :)
The ground turns red as underequipped light blue soldiers fall, overwhelmed by much stronger attackers..

Expecting Wangs stack of surprisingly many Spears and some other stuff hitting me back next turn, i upgrade a dog to mace and add 3 healthy Cuirs..but instead of attacking or moving back, he parks them in front of me..hmm..

I hit them with some healthy Cuirs, that goes well. Then i make a costly mistake, expecting he will take cease fire i let my guys split. But while he will talk, he will not accept cease fire..+1 points for kmod AI. That costs me 4 or 5 Cuirs next turn, but his stack will also be gone and i think it still would have been smarter to go back into his Cap.

Afterwards, still a bit surprised, i gather most of my guys around his Cap and last city. He now reached Feuda, and 2 longbows are inside.

Ending the turn before Wang will leave this world too, i get surprised again..still only 2 longbows, archers not upgraded and no new ones whipped.

Will include "diplo" as well, like begging for gold or maybe bribing cos stacks like the one above can hurt when they backstab.

If you can bribe Charly into a war, you could then declare on him and take out HC. Even getting all of them into a war could be useful, that'll reduce the stacks. Getting Steel will surely help a lot in dealing with huge stacks of medieval troops. Cuirs vs Landsknecht is ugly.
 
For sure, only Charly can be bribed thou and i would either have to give him very expensive techs or declare on Willy myself first to make that much cheaper.
Think i will heal, plunder and wait a bit first.

Teching towards Cavs (PP bulb, economics) might be the elegant way here.

Yup i will try that, it's not that far for economics and the merchant will then allow Rifling.
I have the army should anyone attack, and HE city can keep producing more while other cities help with the economy.
Not in the mood for endless Cuirs massacres :)

Okay so we take Feuda from Hammi for Philo, Engineering from Charly for Philo + Paper (his vassal HC already had paper, so no biggie) and 300g or so from Willy for Philo. Nice return overall.

Charly leverages his Imp trait a bit more, and grabs ex-Sury land. They really reduced him to nothing lol, most tiles are empty and plundered.
But we still find some nice cottages on stuff closer to HC

Nicely done. Hm, even though everyone has medieval trash armies, it's not thaat easy to just kill them with Cuirs right? On a normal bts game it would be game over right now. Especially if the biggest guy only has 11 cities. Of course normal AI could already be close to Rifling.

I like your idea of Economics+Cavs. Would definitely consider that bribe. Getting attacked right now wouldn't kill you, but hmm mad AI whipping from 11 cities would slow you down a bit probably.

I decided to not bribe Lain cos of ~8 turns peace treaty left, turns out you can always trust those AIs to start wars by themselves..details inside (1060 AD) :)

Seems to me Ai just spam units on K mod. So less rex and more wars. 9-10 units a city is a lot for Cuirs. Of course if you get an early DOW and you could be in trouble.

Looking at the demo, AIs are now teching a bit better for sure. 3rd in soldiers, Hammi falling behind and Charly would easily win his war without Willy distracting him (the new cities in former Sury land are easy captures for him)

While we cannot see that with espio points, he would not give those 2 cheaper techs for RP and i actually wonder how he also got economics so quickly. It's almost tempting to target him first, but HC and Charly made me too angry with their culture & AP mafia ~~

An unexpected vassal

okay let's continue, in between turns HC throws all his Cats on my stack east (log).
And Charly moves his stack in front of my city, but does not attack..

Normally i would accept some losses now (still loads of Landsknechts) and wipe that out. But i intend to take this more serious, most of my Cavs are injured or would have to attack across the river (from Wonsan). And Cuirs are not clear winners.
He has only 3 injured Trebs (that i can see) so i can instead have 2 Rifles inside (against Landsknechts, hopefully) if he attacks and wait for a better chance :)

But i can raze Strasbourg, an annoying hill city that's currently weakly defended. I think those are the chances that i should take

If you wonder, C2 Cav against cg3 longbow in hill city gets 54% win + retreat chance..they are really good.
No losses, good on rng so far. I use my visi Cuir for the last defender, he can see Prague averagely defended

Yup those are 3 lonely Trebs there..not like k-mod stops the AI from doing those moves. He might use them against Nuremberg thou, a decent plan but bad execution (i have to kill them ofc). He will have to try his luck against those defenders if he wants to attack, 2 Rifles protect Wonsan

At HC my guys are mostly wounded (6 cats or so), 4 Cuirs against 4 defenders..not liking those chances, i have 3 Cavs as reinforcements and will wait one turn. Useful super medic to heal meanwhile.

Next turn, Charly does not attack (superior odds like protective Rifles really keep the k-mod AI away would be my feeling ~~
But i get the best surprise that could have ever happened oO

Looks like you've got it mostly under control. Capitulation dynamics are not my forte, is it better to cap Huayna first, then Charlemagne (since Huayna is now on your side), or will Huayna not cap as long as you're fighting the strong Charly?

Are you telling Hammurabi to attack specific cities?
 
@dutchfire sometimes they cap while still fighting both, but it's certainly raising the requirements.
Making peace or ceasefire with Charly to cap HC usually makes sense in this position, yup. Especially with Willy being at war with him too, he might cap HC first if i take too long.
It's just that you also lose all war success against Charly, and i did plenty damage by destroying his stack.

No orders for Hammi yet, did not finish this turn yet and he just vassaled ;)

After some busy days i continue here, decided that i keep both wars going for now until i take Machu Picchu from HC and see if he caps :) This pics shows unit moving plans

Not giving Hammi Rifling yet, but i usually equip vassals when no trading is possible anymore. Here that probably means when fighting Willy as last one.

Next turn HC plan starts, at Charly i see Vienne with plenty annoying units inside..will take Bosippa instead while healing also finishes, and tell Hammi to attack Vienne maybe he can soften that a bit meanwhile ;)
