War Updates

Yugoslavia vs. Rome

As the war enters its second season, the battle for the city of Constantinople seemed to settle in for the long siege, as Yugoslavian forces supported by their Kalmar allies began digging in and surrounding the grand city with the sound of cannon fire and bombs falling overhead. Then, under the cover of nightfall, and to the shock of Yugoslavian commanders, the Roman navy won a decisive battle against their Slavic counterparts and landed troops behind the front lines. Yugoslavia pulled back their frontline to deal with the assault, prompting the Roman forces stationed in Constantinople to push forward as well. Both fronts broke and scattered, separating entire units from one another as aerial forces from both sides pummeled the battlefield. With no clear lines of battle drawn, the situation has delved into scattered pockets of fighting east of the city as Roman, Yugoslavian, and Kalmar troops attempt to regroup and rally against their foes. As commanders regroup, bombers fly overhead day and night, and the casualties continue to rise, the Thracian Cauldron begins to boil.

Yugoslavia vs. Italy

As Rome fought for its survival, the Italians made relatively few gains this season. Both navies went after one another to little effect, with neither side winning a critical battle and wresting control of the seas. Meanwhile, in response to the gains made by Italian ground forces, Slavic commanders, through liberal application of expendable manpower and munitions, established a defensive line that managed to blunt the Italian push into Western Yugoslavia, stalling ground forces in the middle of Hungary. However, the Italians managed to score a surprising diplomatic victory in Bosnia. Despite Slavic beliefs that the jihadist state would fight against the Italians, the Bosnians in fact hated the communist Slavic power just as much as the Italians, if not more so. Consequently, the Bosnian state agreed to a ceasefire with the Italians, giving them ample time to weed out the infidels as the war rages on and Italian bombers rain death on Slavic industries and bases throughout the night.

Mexico vs. Rome

In the meantime, Mexican attempts to send a force to fight against the Romans were cut short when their forces were intercepted by Cult mercenaries fighting on behalf of their enemies. The battle was quick but indecisive, preventing the Mexicans from taking any action against Rome proper halfway across the world. It remains to be seen whether or not the war will progress further between these two powers.

SCIENCE!!!

If the title of this news update didn't tip you off, this has been a good season for science. Indeed, most scientific minds agree that thanks to the influx of Other technology and the "clean slate" the Other gave humanity through its brutal attempt at conquest, the human race as a whole is entering into a new golden age of technology. While the efforts of the joint hovercraft project, which is expected to finalize a working prototype by the end of this season, and Commonwealth naval technology have not gone unnoticed, the flagship of this technological revolution is undeniably the Republic in Germany. Working in tandem with the prestigious tech firm Holzer Industries, German robotics technology has advanced exponentially, allowing a new breed of mechanized workers to become commonplace in factories and the medical profession. While the use of these robots has provided many benefits to the populace and science as a whole, many fear the possibility of an robotic uprising as the machines become more and more advanced. Thankfully most of the scientific community, including robotics pioneer and Holzer Industries owner Claudia Holzer, have ruled out such a possibility, insisting that the machines will not progress to a level where they would consider rebellion.

A Wrong of Ice and Fire

While the secrets of the Other-infused technology continue to be probed elsewhere, Arctican scientists stumbled onto a more extraordinary find on one of their new Arctic island possessions earlier this season. Tracking an unusual radar signature as it passed the moon and impacted the the frigid Carpenter Island, early scouting expeditions reported seeing the hull of an unusual spacecraft, mostly intact despite the high impact velocity of the crash. However, events took a dramatic turn when the initial scouting party sent to secure the crash sight dropped contact with Arctican officials after reporting contact with an unknown life form. A military evac was dispatched recovering only two surviving members of the original party and the burnt remains of the alien ship. The surviving leader of the expedition, Captain MacReady, is awaiting trial for vandalizing government property, and while the life form aboard has been terminated, Arctican officials are more than eager to probe the secrets of the surviving technology within.

Wyoming Intensifies and the Lander Massacre

The Gethic Hand continues their campaign against the San Jacinto guerrillas in earnest. The Hand has made good progress in wiping out rebel encampments through the liberal use of firepower, and their propaganda efforts to turn public opinion against the rebels were initially successful. The campaign against the rebels became marred with tragedy, beginning when a Gethic fighter-bomber crash-landed near the town of Lander. Unbeknownst to the local population, the jet was carrying a payload of bombs infused with nerve gas agents, which detonated on impact and unleashed a deadly cloud of poison gas which blew into the center of town. Independent sources claim that fifty seven people were killed in the accident with hundreds more maimed or wounded, which has been heavily disputed by Gethic occupation forces. Despite timely Gethic reaction to the crisis, public opinion of the Gethic Hand has decreased sharply among North Americans, while the rebels have intensified actions against military targets in response.

I Hate It When That Happens

Korea had a little excitement this season when an excavation site in North Korea was attacked by legions of karate-using robots in gray spandex. Military forces were mobilized, but not before the robots escaped with the artifact being extracted. The robots were believed to be affiliated with an entity known as the Mighty Cyborg Mystical Ranger Force Z, which claims to be affiliated with a galaxy-wide "Empire of Evilness" and no doubt has nefarious plans for whatever was taken from the excavation site. Korean officials are scrambling to track down the stolen artifact, and have already made contact with the Rocket Angel, who has been a long-time enemy of the MCMRFZ for some time.

The Lines are Drawn

The conflict between Norman and Orleans intensified as Orleans officials began drafting volunteer forces, intensively for "civil protection." The tension is palpable as both forces sit on standby and diplomats desperately attempt to remedy the situation.

The Peaceful and Nonthreatening Rise of China Madagascar

In a nice change of pace, a new government has risen peacefully on the island of Madagascar. A relatively unremarkable nation, Madagascar has sword to uphold the tenets of democracy and civil liberties, and has already asked to join the new United Nations.

South American Crisis Abruptly Ends

In the meantime, the tension between Panama and Yucatan that was threatening to turn into war ceased quickly when the Yucatan's Mexican neighbor claimed to have possession of atomic weaponry. The conflict was quickly settled in light of the news and both powers agreed to work together in the event of a Mexican attack, only to find out Mexico's claims were made in error. Both sides agreed to return to business as normal and never speak of this incident again.

UN Reports

The World Defense Committee, despite strong showings from Italy and the Gethic Hand this season, have declared that Yugoslavia continues the hold the title of strongest military force. They follow this announcement by sending all warring parties an angry letter telling them to stop it.

The World Economics committee was embroiled in a heated debate over the feasibility of Keynesian economics and nearly failed to report on the strongest economic power this year. However, one official managed to shout out that Germany was on top again and followed closely by Korea and the Commonwealth before metaphorically and literally tackling an objectivist.

The World Sovereignty committee ran a few simulations of their EU5 mod (new DLC is crap as usual) and determined that the lowest revolt risk is tied between Germany and the Commonwealth, with Arctica following close behind them. Gethic ideas are OP.

ELECTIONS IN THE REPUBLIC NEWSFLASH, PART 1​

Today, Germany is entering once again it's flared period of politics. Commonly known as " New Germany " or " the 4rth Reich", Germany has proved stable in the past years of its reconstruction thanks to the joint efforts of the Government and people's trust in the form of government, while not having much trust at the government necessarily.

Regarding the elections themselves, every party, including the Government Coalition, has decided to run on independent platforms, which will propably lead on targeted vote campaigns and propably an even more divided Bundestag than before.

The Union of Technocrats, the largest party in the Parliament, has decided to capitalise on their technological and political success, calling for even greater research than before, while adding the proposal of Germany hosting science fairs and competitions, and callling for more economical reforms so that German Capitalism may survive the revolution brought by the new technological advancements in the field of robotics. One has to wonder if the UT is aimlessly investing in new technologies for the sake of it or if they have a plan, like no one expects them to.

The German Patriotic Party, a right - wing party with authoritarian tendecies, has called for re - militarization of Germany and investments to be done in the sector of advanced static and mobile force - fields, in order to protect Germany and her industry from any unwarranted attacks. However, why Germany would need to be attacked according to the GPP , is still not known.

The Nationalist Liberal Party, or also commonly reffered to as "Best Democrats", think that Germany's velocity and direction does not render it capable of colliding with the orbit of war in Europe and generally in the whole world. As such, they believe they should focus more on strengthening the major industries like Holzer, as what is good for the companies is good for society according to the NLP.

The Democratic Society, or also reffered to as " Worst Democrats ", believe in the fundamental flaws of all authoritarian and indirect democracies. Consequently, they believe that Germany should invest in the fields of better telecommunications and connection, in order to make the first steps towards the very first modern direct Republic. One has to wonder who votes for these people.

But then again, the famous Nationalist Party of Germany and Socialist People's Party are no better. The first one wants to, like the GPP, militarize Germany, but unlike the GPP, use the new military to invade Orleans and " put them down like the dogs they are", as Herr Bomberg, leader of the party, said in his interview. Like the DS, they want to create a global state, but unlike the DS, they want it to be completly ruled by the fascist states of the world. Why aren't they banned again?

Meanwhile, the communists want the complete enslavement of all robots, and to stop all investments in these new technologies, in fear that they might revolt, They also believe that by replacing all workers with robots the Utopia described by Marx will finally be achieved. They have also released a statement regarding the Yugoslav - Roman War, which is completely in favour of the Yugoslavian war effort. It's not like they would denounce those who funded their electoral effort anyway.

However, a new political force has emerged, the IPIG, one that is against the intervention of Germany against other nations, and that of other nations against Germany. They think that technology is inherently neutral, and becomes good only when used for civilian purposes. As such, they believe that protecting Germany with a powerful force field supported by the advanced energy industry in the Federal Republic, and by heavily using bioengineering and merging robots with humans, Deutschland will achieve most of it's goals without any blood being shed. While doing so, they propose that all fundings of parties be banned, and that offensive wars should also be banned by the Constitution itself. Whoever votes for these people, must be a complete nutjob.

Lastly, there is the Rational Party, a party that has yet to form a stable political line, but claims to be logical and not bound by ideology.

The Prime Minister of Yugoslavia, Mr. Ilias Psinakis, commented today on the war effort:

"Our brave soldiers showed once again their valor and willpower on the battlefields of Hungary and Thrace. Our Kalmar allies also showed their bravery and prowess by helping us against the absolutist medieval power that Byzantium is. We may be bleeding, but we are far from being defeated. The war has not ended, as some seem to believe. In fact, it has only started. Like the USSR first faced some mishaps but eventually won the struggle against Fascism, Yugoslavia shall emerge victorious. We shall employ every means and every weapons possible for the defeat of Italy and Byzantium. Our troops shall soon march onto Rome and parade before the Colosseum."

ELECTIONS IN THE REPUBLIC NEWSFLASH PART 2​

Inspired by the seemingly out - of - nowhere liberation of a Muslim state in Europe, and it's continuing existence, many radical muslims have decided to form the " Allah's Word " Party. Drawing inspiration from the policies of Bosnia and other muslim states, Allah's Word is a new German Political establishment that seeks to emulate the ways of the Caliphate during the reign of Muhhamed. Politically, they want to institute Sharia Law all over Germany.

Economically, knowing that they can't completely sever their ties with the rest of the world, their only proposal is to re - institute the Jizya tax.

As for religions, it is quite obvious that Allah's Word desires to make Sunni Islam the state religion. However, they do not seek to outright ban other religions and other iterations of Islam, although it is one of their goals to eventually contain them and spread Sunni Islam everywhere.

For their Foreign Relationships program, Allah's Word seeks closer ties with Muslim States like Egypt and Bosnia, while it condemns Britain as " an anachronistic crusader state".

Regarding the various technologies and sciences, Allah's Word was required to address the issue, as Germany is a technological powerhouse. They believe that investing into robotics is Haram, as it tries to emulate life, which only their deity created. They are also currently divided on the matter of Xeno technology, with some thinking that they are forbidden, while others believe that they are a gift from Allah. However, they have not released a statement regarding the use of other human technologies.

While their political program is well thought out and detailed, it's too bad no - one sane enough will vote for this party.

Emperor of the Roman Empire comments on the war effort

Emperor Andreas I Laskaris has said this on the Ankara Radio:

the War is going well for the Roman Empire. this season, we had defeated the Yugoslavian navy, landed two armies and tried to encircle the enemy. however, the Yugoslavians are defiant, and we failed to completely close the pocket.

Italy has scored a diplomatic victory by making peace with the Bosnian Jihadst state, therefore making them only a Yugoslavian concern. this is a big victory for the Allies.

the Roman forces are increasing in size, skill, and experience, completely unmolested, in Anatolia. so even if the enemy completely wipe out the four armies in Thrace, destroys the Roman Navy and the regional Airforce, somehow prevent a counterattack, they still have to face the replacing 4 armies, plus 16 more Regular armies, plus 20 more Reserve armies that will take their place.

simply put, the Yugoslavians cannot match the Roman Empire in terms of organized skill, superior tactics, and a mastery in Defense that is well earned.

Ilias Psinakis appointed President of Yugoslavia

Premier Stjepan Filipović, former head of state of Yugoslavia, has retired because of old age and a heart attack. Although he is not in danger anymore, the doctors suggested that he needs to retire from politics and live a more relaxed life. Prime Minister Ilias Psinakis has been appointed by a Conference of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia as Premier, so now he is both the head of state and the head of government. As such, the posts of Premier and Prime Minister have been merged into a new post, that of President. Ilias Psinakis has also been conferred the titles of First Worker and Grand Marshall.

The General Secretary of the CPY Tomislav Nikolić has stated: "I hope that comrade Stjepan shall recover soon. However, I am very happy that our country is now fully led by comrade Ilias Psinakis who has shown before his great organizational and strategic skills. Greetings Gethic brethren and other viewers to this moment of Truth News!

The anti-terror campaign of the Gethic Hand against the San Janinto terrorrists has done well, bringing many of the Janinto criminals to the sharp end of justice. Still we must observe that the terrorists forces of the San Jacinto guerrillas continue to commit acts of terrorism against the Gethic state and its people, although the group has been greatly reduced by the brave efforts of the Gethic army. Though the Gethic are as always victorious in their struggles the Director, Vinsin Vancore, had reminded us all that "struggle comes with injury for we must prepare to endure the blows from our enemies, yet we will succeed in making them summit to the truth and the rewards of this venture against terrorism will bring us prosperity beyond the realm of the gods." In light of continued resistance against the Gethic Hand the San Jacinto terrorists have been branded with bounties for conference to private military contractors and assassins to do bidding against the leadership of the terrorists who must be bought to justice, dead or alive. Like the soldiers who are willing to fight for justice so must we all stand against terror and not bow to chaotic forces.

In the light of the tragedy of the Lander Crash the Director has made promise to "bring forth a healing to the people caught up in the horrors of war." The bomber's crash has blamed on San Facinto efforts. Sources from the Forgotten Eye suggest that investigations are considering the possibility that the Gethic aircraft that was shot down by the terrorists in considered moments for the plain to hit near the settlement of Lander as a form of terror attack against both the Gethic air-force and the innocent citizens of Lander. In the mean time we advise all citizens of the Hand to attend to a a minute silence a week on the day of the Lander crash at the time so that all will reflect; Vinvin Vancore will declare the moment the minute starts and end it with a speech of, to quote the title of the speech in preparation, "Our Continued Struggles Against Terrorism and Additional Aspects of Chaos." Represenatives of the citizens of Lander that survived the crash are to be invited to Vancore's address at the Victory Pride Stadium (formally known as Rose Bowl) which will be televised and set to radio for all citizens to heed the speech via TV, radios, speaker towers, city screens, Gethic internet and other approved morally friendly means of media communication. The San Facinto terrorists should also take notice to reflect on the evils they committed against the innocent and the just.

In other Gethic news the Director has signed for the inclusion of additional members of the Gethic family in light of our success in Malaysia and Singapore. Somalia has been marked as a potential zone to bring into order to allow Gethic influence in Africa as well as to serve as a potential air zone to link military air transportation to Yugoslavia in their struggles against chaotic enemies of order and peace. In additional Vancore wants Peru to join the American sphere that is under Gethic order to serve as a base for further policies to the benefit of the Americas. Finally our Pacific membership continue to expand into Maluku for the benefit of our holdings and to continue our deal of territorial division with Australia.
