Kal-el's Unit Concept Sketches

go with the first axe-man- its more historical
they are almost exactly the same, except that the with this one I lengthened his arms (I was really tired when I drew it last night). So, unless you are suggesting that the Egyptians had midget arms, I am not sure what you mean.

remember thos little things called the Pyramids? that is but a small gage of thire devotion to man who merelly assumed the titel of a god on Earth- now imagine there thoughts towards thire true gods, and i think you might begine to see how an ancietn Egyptian would have regarded you notion of a soldire dedicated to Anubis...

though you meant it as a repl;acement for the warrior stand in, sorry ;)

hey padma, how do you make drooling or mouth-dropping smilies? Cause either would be appropriate here to describe Kal-el's contributions.

Well Xen you keep missing the point THESE do not represent our timeline any more than you're crested WW1 infantry, either real life of alternate reality you can't complain about one or the other just because YOU do not like them, and since i am not Catholic i do not care if peter rode a broomstick much less put his name on artillery shells!:D

I have a hard time seeing them as blasphemous. But I am not a follower of the ancient Egyptian religion and don't know their catechism.

Excerpts from the "Negative Confession" in the Egyptian Book of the Dead, from the Leyden Papyrus of Ra, spoken by the deceased before Anubis and Ra, with Anubis weighing the soul of the deceased against an object representing "Ma'at" which may be understood as the complete moral / legal / religious beliefs of the ancient Egyptians:

"I have not transgressed Ma’at.
I have not committed sin.
I have not committed robbery with violence.
I have not stolen.
I have not slain men and women.
I have not stolen grain.
I have not uttered lies.
I have made none to weep.
I have not attacked any man.
I am not a man of deceit.
I have not been an eavesdropper.
I have not been angry without just cause.
I have terrorized none.
I am not a man of violence.
I have not been a stirrer up of strife.
I have not multiplied my words in speaking.
I have never raised my voice.
I have not cursed God.
I have not acted deceitfully.
I have not told lies.
I have not uttered evil words.
I have attacked no man.
I have never pried into matters to make mischief.
I have not been a man of anger.
I have not turned a deaf ear to the words of truth.
I have not stirred up strife.
I have made none to weep.
I have not acted [or judged] hastily.
I have not worked wickedness.
I have not raised my voice.
I have not curse God.
I have not acted with insufferable insolence.
I have not sought to make myself unduly distinguished.
I have not increased my wealth except through such things are [justly] my own possessions."

IMHO not bad for a catechism ... :egypt:

Boy the Egyptian version of paradise must be nearly empty with that list of entry requirements!:D

After I get the Pikeman done I am going to set my mind to some Zulu units. Of course we already have the most excellent Lion Warrior, so that fills one spot. Other than the Impi the Zulu are pretty short on units Well, hopefully not for long.

Then, I will work on those Chinese units, LouLong. And I think you know I have nothing against the Chinese, Lou. ;)

Um, Kal-el?

I have not slain men and women
I have made none to weep.
I have not attacked any man
I have not been angry without just cause.
I have terrorized none.
I am not a man of violence.
I have not been a stirrer up of strife
I have never raised my voice
I have attacked no man
I have never pried into matters to make mischief.
I have not been a man of anger.
I have not stirred up strife.
I have made none to weep.
I have not acted [or judged] hastily.
I have not worked wickedness.
I have not raised my voice.
I have not acted with insufferable insolence
I have not increased my wealth except through such things are [justly] my own possessions

Umm, if knight trainees were to live according to the words of this catechism, then I am afraid there would never be a knight of anubis

EDIT: not a competent one, anyway

:mischief:

Oh, please, Kal-El, you must realize I am joshing you.

ps: will send a pm over night.

uh, oh. are there militant pacificts who walk these pages?:D

Kal-El,

This might sound presumptuous, but I reckon you could do a fantastic version of Sauron for the LOTR Mod. I want that mean mother as my King in every game. Just stand him on the borders, and people would offer tribute without having to ask them.

HAHAHA! What a relief it is, then, that I am not ancient Egyptian.;)

This line translates to: do not equivocate. Basically, it's telling you not to be a sneaky liar by speaking with a forked tongue.

EDIT: Iwrote this as if I was an expert Egyptologist, which I am not. I did not write as an expert authority, but as someone who has a hunch.:egypt:

Anubis is by far the coolest looking Egyptian god. Hence, Anubis Knight would be the most kickass course of action, IMO.
