Kal-el's Unit Concept Sketches

Ah...That's a very good explanation!:D

Zulu chariots could use zebras instead of horses (but would that unit be worth doing?)

Zulu horsemen... they could be riding on water buffalo's ;) ... naah, stick with the horses.

Zulu knights: I was also thinking about the elephants, but since the african elephant cannot be domesticated... WAIT! Did the zulu's even try to domesticate the elephant? In civ-wise they're technologically an 'ancient age' civ, so who knows what could have they done, if they would have reached 'medieval age'. :)
They could have domesticated the african elephant. :)

Hey aaglo, the Zulu's actualy tried to go into battle on the backs of water buffalo's, but they broke and ran at the 1st sign of danger, no discipline from those animals. Sorta the same as if an aztec would have tried to ride a dear against the Spaniards.

This post will have all my Zulu Sketches.

You can see that I am suggesting the Impi be used as a replacement for the Swordsman rather than the spearman. The reasoning for this is that Shaka reduced the haft of the traditional Zulu spear making it more like a sword than a spear, and the Impi were more of an offensive unit than defensive, so I think the unit seems to fit better there.

And as has been said earlier, I am not restricting these units to soley Zulu traditional dress, but am also including other tribes from East/Central Africa much like I included other Native American tribes in my Iroquois designs.

I think the Impi should be 2.2.2(cost 30 instead of 20) instead of a fast swordsman. They were really multiuse.

Funny... I could've sworn someone said the same thing in the Lion Warrior thread...

:crazyeye:

Well guys, it would take decades before I figured out how to use my damn scanner, so here's just a paint version of the unit instead. As promised, behold the Babylonian tank unit! Look at it and tell me you wouldn't like seeing that thing driving around in the modern age!

You miss your own point here, aaglo. Regardless of if the zulu tried to domesticate the african elephant, it has been tried, and you can't do it. :)

Kal-el, I like the archer  but how the hell does that quiver work? It should fall to pieces.

I would think anything copuld be domesticated if you gave it about 10,000 years of breeding or so.:undecide:

How could we breed wolves if we had no control over it to get the cute and cuddly dogs we have today?

the quiver is questionable, but it's based on an image I had seen though I may have gotten it wrong based on poor memory. I guess the base should be longer to hold the arrows better.

Hey everyone, I'm going to try to make the Babylonian tank my first ever unit using NeoMega's tutorial and Rhino's 25 save evaluation. I'll probably fail miserably, but it'll be fun doing so anyway.

@Kal-El: That Zulu Archer's hair looks a bit too caucasian if you ask me

Of course we had control over the more stupid type of wolf that would become the dog. Besides, man didn't begin to actively breed it until it was tame already.
And a dog can't trample your village.

O...Well, what if the Elephant was stupid!:D:lol: Seriously, I can see your point...But then again, couldn't the North African Elephant trample your village also???
