Kamikaze CFC Contest !

Another question. In the rules it says send passwords to the admins.
Who's that then? Is it the same as the referees?

I've sent my passwords to Akots...

I sent mine to both to cover all eventualities.

Another possible problem.
In naming the save as you suggest I can see a slight problem. On turn 2 as the Japs I ended up with a save name the same as the one I recieved. You need something to identify the player. I added Japanese to the save otherwise it would have been exactly the same as the one I got. I think you need a player name or letter or something, alternatively maybe I have misunderstood the naming conventions and got it wrong. :)

I must admit that I didn't exactly follow the naming convention. I labeled my turn

Misfit_Japan, Round1, Pool1, Game1 Dec 1941 AD.SAV

That made it pretty obvious, and kept the spirit of the naming convention.

Now all I need is an opponent who can start up PBEM's.......

;-)

Misfit

Yes, Misfit, really sorry for that. Akots tried his best to give hil technical ways out the problems he encounters but DZ is not that talkative ...

A side note : some people have asked me how you can capture Rangoon at turn 1.
Some games haven't started so I don't want to influence them but as soon as all turn 1 are over I will write it here. Not that it is a big secret though as others know it.

Don't tell. Let people figure it out for themselves. I didn't know how to capture Manila on turn 1 either, but I figured it out the hard way. Start a game in Hotseat mode - and practise.

It's easier if you have a combat calculator to work out probable odds as well, so you don't attack with the wrong units (or in the wrong order).

That should be enough of a hint for them to figure it out on their own. Its far more satisfying that way.

Keep in mind that just because some other player figured out one way to do something, doesn't mean that is the ONLY way. If you work it out yourself, you'll likely discover some things other people haven't thought of either.

Misfit

I have pm'ed DZ again a minute ago and if he does not respond within 12 hours from the time of this post by e-mailing to Loulong, Misfit_T or me or by pm at CFC to either of us or posting in this thread, I would believe a replacement is to be sought for him to pair with Misfit_T.

Sorry guys, but I have been working 12-14 hour days lately. For the record, I offered to opt out two days ago but you guys thought you could help.

I hope I don't get blacklisted. The other games I am in are going quite well. :) Thanks for trying to help, though.

@DZ: Well, sorry that you had to drop but there is little that can be done about it apparently.

We need another replacement then, alas.

Semental posted in the replacement players thread...

So no more people are allowed to play until the next challenge arrives?

It is unclear, may be more people will drop. Since it is cup system with knockouts, it is reasonable to limit the number of contestants to 8 or 16 players.

Drivebymaster: if you want, you can take over my untennable position against LouLong. He is going to win, but you can watch him do it...

@ Rcoutme : is it psychological warfare ?

@Akots & Gnarfflinger : I have asked Semental if he could replace Donovan Zoi as he was second in line when I searched a replacement for "Augurey".

@ Drivebymaster : if Semental declines, you are next in line to replace Donvan Zoi = meeting Misfit Travel (arghhh !).

Seriously:
I don't get it. It's my first time ever as Japan in this scenario and I've conquered Rangoon easily. What's the difficult part of it ?

Taking out a single city isn't the hard part. Being able to juggle your initial resources to taking out as many cities as possible (and inflicting as much damage as possible) is the challenge.

Misfit

Would like to remind every player that the rules of the contest posted by Loulong are mandatory. Please do not violate them. All of the violations can be detected and rather easily. This is a contest but a friendly contest. Let's be polite and courteous to each other and stick firmly to the rules.

In case of any questions please do not hesitate to pm or e-mail Loulong or me. The rules and other unclear or uncertain impersonal issues can be discussed in this thread IMHO.

After the game between semental and Misfit will start (the last one apparently), I hope it will be possible to post a short progress update.
