King of the World #11: Darius I

From Not enough Seige to too much. Nice Neal. Take more than 30% seige and you are alright. That is AWESOME!

YES! BIG STACKS! Great job! I thought more or SB would have to go but I guess I'm just too bloodthirsty today.

NICE SCORE!!!!!! [party]

Great Game Neal! Maybe time for Deity? Joking... but you could try it...

Good show!

Next time I think you need to make the game truly immortal. One thing for sure you should not be rushing warrior guarded Sumeria or barb warrior cities! That's Prince level.

I think Immortal every civ starts with Agriculture, The Wheel, Hunting and Archery, on top of their free starting techs. This includes the barbarians... It's a huge advantage for the AI and it's not truly Immortal level until you play with it.

Although, are you doing an advanced start next? Some sort of medieval game?

Decided to finish my shadow game:
Spoiler :
1535 diplo victory. 287k. Capitulated Hannibal then Qin then Wang then Sury, cash-rushed UN 1495 and then waited for the vote.

I come out of lurking oh so rarely, but this was one occasion to definitely drop in and say what an exceptionally enjoyable read this was. You, sir, truly are the King of the World. Well played!

Okay, lemme set everyone straight, here. The Civs (and leaders) present on this map are...

In Africa:
Ramesses of Egypt
Hannibal of Carthage

In Europe:
Boudica of Ireland/Celtia
Julius Caesar of Rome
Pericles of Greece

In the Middle East:
Gilgamesh of Sumeria
Hammurabi of Babylon
Darius of Persia

In Asia:
Asoka of India
Qin Shi Huang of China
Tokugawa of Japan
Wang Kon of Korea

Suryavarman of the Khmer (who shouldn't be there, but he seems to have somehow snuck in)

In the Americas:
Sitting Bull of the Native Americans
Pacal II of Maya

That means no Hattie, no Mansa Musa, and NO SALADIN!!! *huff* *puff* Sorry :)

So, yeah, I'm thinking I should get rid of the Khmer and repost the scenario. I don't think it'll make terribly much difference to anyone playing a shadow, but I'd like to maintain our ancient empires integrity. Any objections?

Edit: Oh, and Stewie... We're playing Darius I, who is Financial and Organized. I'd like to make another swing at a Specialist Economy, but I think we'd be doing our Traits a disservice if we didn't spam cottages :)

K, so I'm obviously way late on this thread. But, just to describe what I highlighted, Wang Kon was around 1000 AD, and Tokugawa was 1600 AD. The only civ in east Asia should be Qin China, and it should become very strong, as strong as India if you didn't rush kill them first. In fact, after killing off India, suggest going for China next. You're Darius...whip up some courthouses and enjoy the entire Orient in BC.

Yeah, but Sitting Bull was 19th Century and Pacal was born well into the AD's. My point is, there were a Korean and a Japanese people before the beginning of the common era. If the specific leaders tied to the Civs were a cheat, so be it.
