India or Mongols, definitely on emperor.

I too think that going to earth 34civs would be neat. Several civs have very unique challenges: Vikings, Khmer, Zulu, Ethiopia and new world dynamics are very different with the Native Americans and Mayans added to the mix.

Well, I'm not going to call it for a while, but it looks like Huayna Capac is currently the leading candidate. I will say this: Due to its bizarre starting position, Inca is the one Civ that I'd rather stay on Monarch for. Given that, I guess it makes sense to make this the last hurrah before going to Emperor.

Of course, if everyone's against it, I'm willing to be reasonable. Any Inca voters wanna change their ballots?

(And regarding Earth34: definitely sounds intriguing; maybe we'll make the jump in the next couple of games)

You're obviously not having too many problems at this difficulty. I would have a go with the Inca's, they have by far the most difficult start, then try upping the difficulty with the following game.

Another advantage of the Inca's is the difficulty of rushing anybody :D

Edit: Hey, cool. I posted my response before reading Neals. Go me :)

This is one of the reasons why I didn't vote for HC, but if Neal plans on doing HC, maybe you should check out this thread I made a while ago.

There was a guy who won on emperor easily but his screenshots aren't visible anymore. I actually tried Huayna Capac on either monarch or emperor once. It was so ridiculously easy once I got South America colonized that the game was a breeze, even more so than in vanilla since Huayna Capac is Financial.

Inca has arguable the worst starting position in the game so I wouldn't mind them. They have great potential; once they do escape that strip of crappy land they're golden.

I was the first to vote for this poll, but I didn't state why. I voted HC cuz he has a really horrible start. After ur Mali game, I think you can handle HC's start. =P

Great idea, quechua galley rush Monty and Roosevelt. :goodjob:

Just joking, not right after last game, but it is something I'll have to try sometime.

Wow. Heh. The Galley-Quecha rush actually kind of works. I took Tenochtitlan in 2200 B.C. with two Quechas. Admittedly, Monty had founded a second city, which my lone remaining guy was incapable of taking, but you could do much worse than making the Aztec capital your second city.

... Not that I'm gonna do that in the proper game. Especially if we're not the Inca ;)

I just played an Inca game, and It was incredibly easy. I think the hardest would be Greece. No matter how hard I try, I just can't win that game. It's surprisingly hard being trapped between 3 potential super powers (Persia, Russia, Rome (Depends on the game for Rome, but In my game, Rome Prat rushed France and Spain, and vassalized England early.)), with horrible land. Even with the new UU, it's hard. Even if it is European, it's unique.

I suggest you at least play a offline game with them, if only to 0 AD or so. Just wait and see...

I accidentally voted for Inca, so subtract a vote from Inca and add it to Greece. >_> <_<

I tried a "warm-up" game as the Greeks, when Alexander was a front-runner for one of the earlier games (I think it was Freddy). His start is indeed painful. Do you aim for Turkey to grab Copper, or just wait for Iron Working to start building an army?

Kill everyone with warriors... greek would be a boring repeat of the isabella game. It is basically get europe or bust...

There is copper near "Triest" or "Zagreb" easily available for Greece.

I initally voted for Inca, but i think it would be fun to see india on emperor. Inca would be quite boring untill 1000ad.

All right. I don't see anyone overtaking the Inca at this point. This'll be the last Monarch game, I promise. I'm going to set the game up for preliminary discussion.

Unless you play this game real fast it'll get boring before it is over as you already mastered monarch quite well in the past :p.
